Lady Uang just keeps climbing higher and higher on my respect ladder. The way she handles her situation with such flawless grace is nothing short of inspiring, and should serve as an example to everyone as far as handling one sided feelings is concerned. Songjet gets far too little credit for playing that role. This episode took heartbreak to a whole different level, but once I managed to limp here to part four with my soul in shambles and all my tissues used up, even I could feel the comfort Lady Uang offered through the screen. The kindness she radiates even through her own thick veil of pain is incredible.

Pin is displaying her own brand of bravery in this episode by accepting her own heart being broken and her life forced into a direction she doesn't want, all just to protect Anin. Pin was willing to fight for her love as well, right until the point where Anin said she would sacrifice her title and everything that came with it. To Pin, who had her life saved by Anin's family, that outcome is unacceptable. She still feels much too indebted to Anin's family to let Anin step into that kind of shame and disgrace, and she chooses not to. In her mind, she's protecting Anin. The conflict between them we see created in this episode is on both of them, because they share the exact same flaw that creates it: they don't understand each other's motivations. A sadly common phenomenon in relationships.

I’m very fond of this series as a 54 year old gay woman who experienced similar oppressions for my sexual orientation. Please pay me no mind as I share some reflections. After the emotional impact of this episode, I find myself compelled to commend both Freen Sarocha and Rebecca Armstrong for their remarkable portrayals of Anil and Khun Pin. Their performances were powerful, transcending the written narrative of the books and creating an intense emotional experience on screen. The portrayal of Anil and Pin’s emotions was both profound and haunting, evoking a kind of pain that lingers well after the scenes end. I'm still crying from it as it really brought back memories I thought I had finally buried. The ending of this episode, in particular, was devastating. Khun Pin silently witnessing Anil and Lady Uangfah’s conversation introduced an additional weight of self-blame for her that will likely shape her character’s decisions in the next episodes. This further intensifies the tragedy, as she now shoulders the guilt of Anil's suffering on top of everything else, and she doesn't have anyone to share these troubling emotions with because as in contrast with Anil, who has a support system, Khun Pin is all alone. Yet, as a viewer, following the series from the beginning, I've been finding myself yearning for a more deeper exploration of Khun Pin’s internal world. Her narrative perspective in the initial episode (as it begins with her as the narrator), including the recounting of her parents' loss and her arrival at the palace, created a sense of intimacy that seems to have faded a little bit in later episodes. The lack of insight into Khun Pin’s inner thoughts feels like a missed opportunity to enrich her character. Although she is inherently reserved, her quiet nature could be balanced by glimpses of her introspection-whether through solitary conversations with her Sasha doll, speaking out loud to herself, or perhaps through entries in a personal diary. Such moments would deepen her character and provide a counterbalance to Anil’s more visibly impassioned narrative. One powerful example of what I'm arguing here is shown in episode 10, part 2, when Khun Pin refuses to return the ring Anil gave her to Aunt Pattmika after she demanded it. This subtle act of defiance is significant as it’s her first departure from submission. Yet the scene was partially obscured, requiring viewers to infer her defiance rather than witness it fully. We later see Khun Pin telling Anil about aunt Patt's suspicion of them because of the ring and also sharing with Anil that she wouldn't remove the ring no matter what happens. But now, imagine how powerful and different the scene would've been if we would have witnessed Khun Pin directly tell her aunt that she won't remove the ring. However, a part of me is happy to finally have witnessed something similar in this episode since we didn't see it in episode 10. I smiled subtly finally watching Khun Pin say out loud, in front of others, that she doesn't want to remove the ring and witness Khun Kua's declining face. This brought me happiness and I applaud Khun Pin for her small acts of courage. They might not be as grand as Anil's, but they're still very present. Lastly, to everyone criticizing Khun Pin and labeling her as weak, I encourage you to pause and consider the privilege you may be speaking from. Even Anil, a princess with royal status, was still seen as inferior to her brothers simply because she is a woman. Now imagine Khun Pin, without any royal rank and only an aunt by her side-a figure who, unfortunately, is a source of deep emotional trauma for her, even though she doesn’t fully see it right now. Additionally, please remember that this series highlights not only the obstacles their love faces due to social class differences but also the fact that they are two women in love. In many countries, non-heterosexual relationships are still considered taboo, and lesbian/gay relationships, in particular, are often criminalized, sometimes even punishable by fines and even jail. I sympathize with Khun Pin's character so much because she's not weak at all. Even Anil hasn't truly realized yet that her royal status actually gave her power and an advantage that Khun Pin lacks, hence the reason why she sacrificed herself. Anil and her were raised differently. Anil was raised to always be determined and get what she wants. Khun Pin was raised to always remember to be grateful and obedient. Both of them are suffering due to the society's cruelty they lived in, not because of their decisions. As for the preview of the next episode, I will withhold judgment until viewing. As I mentioned above, we might see Khun Pin’s decisions shift dramatically after having witnessed the conversation of Anil and lady Uangfah. This may be the reason why she claims they won’t be able to fix anything in the preview because she’s so in pain, the guilt is so heavy in her shoulders, that she has accepted to fully let go of Anil in hopes that she could be with someone else who actually deserves her, since she considers herself undeserving. Thank you The Loyal Pin for the great series. I'm looking forward to the final episodes.

Becky really proves herself as an actor. Congratulations! One thing i want to say is, Lady Uang is the greenest of forests. The way she didn't blame Anin for her unrequited love. The way she knows but didnt try to jeopardize anin and pin relationship. The way she, unlike most people, didnt take advantage of anins state of mind/being. Anins words 'i feel inferior to every man in this world' hits hard, especially living in countries who still very unforgiving to people like us. I thought it was interesting how Lady Uang adds a comment at 12:09 to Khun Khea's decision to get married so quickly after the engagement celebration. The comment sounded like she doesn't seem to like this decision and/or that maybe she felt something was off. What an angsty and painful episode! Really good performance from the cast. 😭Lady Uangfa is really one of the best characters in this series. The final scene was devastating. Anin wept in Lady Uangfa's arms, overwhelmed by despair, while Lady Pin shed silent tears outside. 😭Princess Anin is intimidating when she warns Kuea to be aware of his status and know his place.

I dropped a tear when Khun Pin tried to reach Anil but she stepped back. I literally cried when Prik blamed herself. In all honesty, I felt their pains. Anil was willing to denounce her title for Pin while Pin felt it was too much a sacrifice and decided to sacrifice her own happiness just to let Anil retain her royalty. The most painful part that made me cry hard was Khun Pin not having anyone to comfort her. This Episode 13 gave me goosebumps and made me cry. Truly only love could hurt like this. Finally, I must commend Becky, she killed her role. Kudos to the director and the entire crew of TLP. Looking forward Ep14.
