Uncut with Jay Cutler

Uncut with Jay Cutler

Күн бұрын

Jay Cutler sits down with sports personality and media sensation Pat McAfee, and immediately dive into the benefits of coffee and learning how to lose weight, as Pat jokes that even though he played soccer most of his youth he has gained back a lot of weight since his pro career ended. Plus Pat and Jay talk about their workout routines and how to manage dealing with guys who want to compete at the gym at their age. And Pat also talks about how playing soccer took up so much of his time in high school that he would just show up the Friday before football games with little or no practice and somehow kick it a country mile. Pat also tells the EPIC story about borrowing $100, gambling in an illegal poker game and turning it into enough money to go to Miami for kicking tryouts for college. Jay and Pat also talk about how to keep their kids grounded in a world of wild success (even though Pat hasn't had any kids yet) and Pat talks about how he got "around" going to the combine and got his offers from his pro day. And when Pat got drafted as a punter he had to quickly learn how to punt at a pro level, as he was always a kicker. And of course Pat's run with Barstool, his short lived stand up career, and how he grew his own brand online.

I loved Cutler as QB for the Bears. The expression on his face after ANOTHER F'g sack were priceless. The media would give him crap about it, but MAN 52 sacks in one season and the all time sacked QB in Chicago tells a tale. Easily half his interceptions were made ducking another out of control pass rush. Bears had a crap O-line but Jay survived. Love you man!

Pat McAfee has been playing football almost his whole life... No wonder he is much better informed than most popular American pundits on European and International Football... His build is similar to those of many football players, especially those before the 2010s, that is huge and firmly built below the waist and skinny above it...

This was awesome. I came upon it totally randomly, I had no idea Jay even had a podcast. I was always a fan of his gunslinger mentality at QB when he was playing, regardless of the multiple INT games. Dude had a cannon for an arm and could make some ridiculous throws. I always thought he retired too soon, but it’s good to see him doing his thing now. Subscriber earned bro.

Jay didn't care about anything except his teammates and his personal self-perception.. A good thing in my opinion! Block out all the bs and noise and focus on your craft and team only. I actually was a big fan of his during his time in Chicago and was labeled as an apologist by friends and family (I didn't care about it either); Facts are facts and the stats backed it up, he was the closest thing to a Favre after he retired and a gamer (had a lot of comeback wins, game winning drives / 4th quarter rallies, and sacks taken while still breaking franchise QB records for yards, and tuddies). His toughness to me was unquestionably there, he took 9 sacks and suffered a concussion in one half of a Giants-Bears game which at the time set a record, and for three seasons had the most sacks taken in the entire League from 2009-2012.. He was throwing to subpar receivers until 2013, and behind patchwork OL's until 2016, all the while getting 6 different OCs and 3 head coaches in 8 seasons in Chicago (crazy obstacles). This is all not including the two head coaches and two OCs he had in Denver at the start of his career (where he still made his lone* Pro Bowl nomination), nor his later unretirement and subsequent last hurrah down in Miami (for another HC / OC combo; Do I hear 6 head coaches and 9 OCs?!)... NOTE: * - #6 would make another Pro Bowl as an alternate later on in his career, but he'd turn it down as well citing injuries.

Was always a fan of ole smokin Jay. Guy got too much hate for having a personality. He wasn't the long-term answer at QB but he was good enough to never be the problem with flashes of brilliance. Always seemed like a cool dude to me though and I enjoyed the way he addressed the media. As a Seahawks fan and having Russell Wilson always have the carefully curated answers he does, it gets tiresome. Having an actual human give a candid response to something and say some shit people don't like was awesome to see. Came for Pat McAfee, stayed for Jay, definitely subbed.
