Sarah Bartlett This band is blaming politicians for deaths caused by others. What kind of message is that?! The problem is that most people in our society don’t want to take responsibility for their actions or inactions. It’s always someone else’s fault, isn’t it? What about alcohol? Should politicians ban it because people are stupid and drink and drive, which causes thousands of deaths? Nobody ever has a good answer for that comparison to the gun shootings.

Am I the only one that gets chills every time they listen to this song and that extremely young voice whispers that one particular "we all fall down?" I mean as if this song wasn't already chilling and powerful enough, that little voice is the nail in the coffin that makes this truly unforgettable. These are children singing about a very real threat that they face pretty much every day, children singing about the possibility that they will be gunned down and that the government is not doing all they can to protect them. I heard somewhere that there has been the equivalent to one school shooting every week this year in the US. Think about that as you listen to this song. Think about that one little voice: "We all fall down."

When we were having the memorial of the school shootings at my school, the entire audiotorium began to cheer 'No thoughs, no prayers, can bring back what's no longer there. The silent, are damned. The body count is on your hands.' My principal tried to sugarcoat everything by saying that everything was going to be alright and that if we just have hope it'll all end. I started to chant Thoughts and Prayers, and everyone else in the school began to do it with us. No one had the power to stop us. It was magical, and heartbreaking. We kept chanting it until the memorial ended.

Update: A few weeks ago, my school had to go into a lockdown because there was a mentally disturbed individual running around saying he'd "shoot up a school." In my town, there are 6 schools. Two of them are elementary schools, and one is a middle school. In his apartment, he was armed with two shotguns, four high-powered rifles, and one standard rifle. No one got hurt, which is the most important part, however, there were reported gunshots in the area by the suspect. He was caught almost an hour later the lockdown was put in place by authorities. I had to come and listen to this song again.

Brian H I agree with almost everything you said, but I don’t think grandson is blaming politicians for deaths caused by others. He’s more so saying that the government should be doing more to help than sending their “thoughts and prayers”. Like making sure that people who do have mental problems get the right care and that guns aren’t just easily given to everyone. He’s defiantly not blaming politicians, just simply saying that they could and should do more.

Don't get me wrong, the whole walk out was an okay idea, but they turned it into the fact of gun violence. Most places did not have a moment of silence for the victim. I find it wrong. Its over and done and we can't do anything. When the walk out happened, all we did was talk about gun safety, I know somebody personally who was killed and it did upset me, along with the fact that MANY kids used the walk out as a way to get out of class and talked during the entire thing anyways.

F3AR GAMING This band is blaming politicians for deaths caused by others.

@@bhanx23 maybe because the gun laws are made by politicians? turn on the news sometimes.

UNCVRD, I have attempted to create a song kind of like Grandson's. I thought of some great lyrics, but i'm stumped. I can't think of anything else resembling anything just even a little bit close to Grandson's amazing content. Such a great cause, btw god bless Grandson, his work, and everything that leads. Gotta keep going with life :). Such an amazing person

Desapointment , doesnt exist in grandson's vocabulary Edit: I’m actually glad I was a silly teenager not knowing how to spell back then cause it just shows how people can be and how they react over a simple spelling mistake. Not even a single person here tried to explain it in a good way, they just made fun of it with no clue about my age or personality. Thanks to those who ignored it and accepted the sentence for what it is. Ps. Only one person in the comments actually supported me. As I would say desapointing :)

Im seeing a lot of “I hope people can stop this and “I hope they fix this” THEY are US, we must be the change! SPREAD THE WORD, DONATE, TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS,CLASSMATES,PEOPLE NEED TO REALIZE THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT IS SEEN ON THE NEWS AND WILL NOT EFFECT THEM. I know too many people that think this way.
