Just brought my D&D Tower of Doom back to life!!!! Rev 4 board, got it right the 1st time. Easier and faster than trying to phoenix rom it or replace the battery while it's still alive.!!!

If we wanted to keep that resistor installed on CN2 for the sake of "just in case," would it cause any issues with the Infinikey?

Thanks for uploading this, and for producing the Infinikeys. A couple of questions: 1) Do you recommend any specific gauge conductor to use for +5V & GND on Rev 3/4 boards? 2) Are there any long-term concerns from writing the encryption keys on every boot?

No recommendations on wire gauge. It's all so low current, you should be fine as low as 30awg. InfiniKey is writing to RAM, so nothing to wear out.

@@undamned Awesome, thank you for the blazing fast reply! Just installed this on a Rev 4 board (A2/Z2), and I foolishly set the jumpers incorrectly multiple times before I got it correct. First time, I didn't realize the sheet lists the jumpers from 7-0, and then the second time, I used the jumpers for A1... once I got the jumpers correct, I experienced a lot of weird behavior and had to power cycle multiple times before it started working. Everything seems great now! Time to work on my other boards. Will be more careful with the jumper order going forward. Thanks again!

Thank you for bringing such a great product to the CAPCOM gaming enthusiasts. I recently purchased 2 INFINIKEYS and am planning to install them soon to my rev 7 boards. I have 2 questions: #1. Can the INFINIKEY be connected to CN9 via a jumper wire on top of the board? #2. I have a DEAD MVC rev 7 board. Is there a way to revive it or should I throw it away? Any help/advice you can give will be appreciated..... Thanks 👍👍👍

Hey! Yep, you could connect to CN9 using wires to the top of the board. Just be sure to keep the same order of the wires. Regarding your "dead" MVC, in what way is it dead? Was it ever working while in your possession?

@@undamned Yes, it was working until it suicided a few years ago. I removed the battery immediately when it did. The reason I mentioned it was a DEAD BOARD is because when I attached it to my working A boards, the fans wouldn't even turn on!!! But when I placed a different suicided B board the fans would operate just fine.

@@nathanjmapp wow, that's pretty weird that the fan would be affected. I guess, start with the other board and once thats working, do the same procedure to the "dead" one (using appropriate game code on the solder jumpers, of course).

Fantastic! I will be installing these in my 14 CPS-II games I own. The board is pricey here, AUD$25 so it will be a few at a time. Any chance of something like this for CPS-I or SYSTEM-16/18/24/32?

Cool! CPS1 and Kabuki versions are done, I just need to produce them. I've not looked into the Sega stuff yet. No immediate plans for them.

@@undamned Fantastic! Nice to know there will be a CPS-I option soon! I have 6 dead boards that I bought dead with the intention of fixing. Just never got around to buying the arduino stuff. To have them 100% unaltered AND no battery is just perfect. Too bad the Captain Commando board's C board had already been altered, they just had'nt burnt new ROMs. The Wonder 3 from the same seller had a nastier surprise when I got it, no B-21 chip! C boards are fairly easy to come by thankfully.

Best way to ensure you know what's in the program EPROMs is to verify them against the MAME ROMs. I'm told that the "TL866 II Plus" is a good low cost USB device to read them.

I had installed an infinikey on a usa marvel vs capcom. Now I get a diagonal line and miscolored graphics. Any ideas why?

I've never seen an InfiniKey cause graphics issues. Either it works or it doesn't. You'll have to investigate further as to what other issue is amiss. Could be as simple as A and B board not connected well or dirty JAMMA edge.

It's an Amiga 1080. Nothing really remarkable about it. Just be sure to have something between your JAMMA video and RGB monitor to drop the voltage to an acceptable level.

My 10 infinikeys arrived today. Amazing stuff, I can finally stop worrying about swapping new batteries into my cps2 boards! This is purely theoretical, but I guess it doesn't matter if you set up game selection jumpers for wrong region/version? Game just doesn't boot because of incorrect key and one can just change the solder pad config and start again? I mean, it's faster that way than dumping the roms and checking them with romident.... Or as the b-board has a big cap for holding the voltage (when changing batteries), does that somehow prevent you from rapidly changing region / infinikey programming a new key into the system? PS. Eagerly waiting for Kabuki/qsound version!

Wrong key won't hurt anything :) Capacitor does not need discharge. If you tried every key for that title and it still doesn't work, check soldering, etc. If everything else checks out, there's a rare possibility you have an undumped version. Hit me up if you get stuck.

Everything is 100% fine, I was just speculating :) All my games are either euro or japanese so there were no surprises with the romsets. Actually some of the mame dumps are from my arcade boards so didn't have that problem either. Thanks again for providing a brilliant product!

If your board hasn't suicided yet, would this help or hurt collector value? I could see it going either way. On the one hand, the new owner would never have to worry about it, but on the other, it's not 100% original. Thoughts?

Odd thing happened for me Keyed a rev 4 board, worked fine for a few days. Powered it on and white screen again. I opened it up went over a few things and still nothing :(

If it worked once, that's a good indicator you were headed I the right direction. I would just double check all solder points and make sure they are nice.

dcvmu I went over some areas that I thought may have been suspect but nothing, I’m thinking about pulling it and starting over. I haven’t really had a chance to dive into it lately as I’ve have some other arcade projects I’m trying to finish. I’ve put a key in a X-men vs sf, that has been working perfect for me.

Don't leave the battery in. They eventually corrode and permanently damage the game.

Is it "Zero 2" (SZ2) or "Zero 2 Alpha" (SZA)? They use different codes.
