Germany has, in my opinion, offensive firepower as good as any team out there. However, Germany still has moments of concentration lapse in defense; for example, on the first Netherlands goal, the German midfielder (Andrich?) took big risk in stepping up to intercept the ball without any team mate backing up. There were times when the space between midfielders and defenders were wide open.

spot on. but it has to be pointed out, that germany had to rebuild their midfield once again, and the backline was new as well. Shaky start and once they get rid of individual mistakes which led to the goal, they seem to be back on track.

​@@user-sr3sf That's just an anti-Havertz agenda. Undav isn't that good. He does very little to create chances for others, and he doesn't like to have the ball. He had only 19 touches in the whole game. No wonder Nagelsmann subbed him off in the 60th minute. Even Füllkrug creates more chances by making runs behind the backline and playing key passes. Havertz is one of our key players in attack. He likes to have the ball, makes runs for others, and has very good football IQ, just like Müller.

Love the (German) reactions on the game. During interviews most players (Germans and Dutch) found it a good and intens game. Yes some goals were conceived because a poor defending (de Ligt and also some of the German defenders with 2nd Dutch goal) but we also saw quality on both sides. Seriously Germany solve the defense problem, ever since Lahm, Mertesacker and Neuer left the team, Germany defense looks like an mid table Bundesliga club defense, Kimmich looks like the only player who could fix this but it’s only one player who looks like the one to do it, Germany needs way more, what happened to the days when there were Beckenbauer, Sammer or Lahm in defense? Tah can do it for Leverkusen but def not on international level and possibly Rüdiger too.

the issue wasnt the defence, it was a poor choice by andrich in a pressing moment. Germany usually stays very high on the pitch to be able to press more efficiently, which they did after they settled after ~20 minutes. The defence was exposed by Andrich's mistake. He should've been more positionally aware and be on the backfoot, rather than trying to tackle the ball, which led to the goal.

We just need to find another real quality cb to partner with Rüdiger, and also, Nagelsmann should start playing Füllkrug over Havertz, I thought he would have learned his lesson in the late euro tournament, Füllkrug is a deadly goal scorer, and he would convert most of these chances Kai has been getting which would cause us to win more games, i love Kai, but he is not a CF.. Nagelsmann should let go of this obsession, especially when our defense can get so vulnerable at times, therefore, we need to convert our chances to ensure we outscore teams.. We need to correct this particular issue, which has been costing us dearly.. If we intend to dominate world football again, we need to fix this particular issue, else, we are going to struggle to win tournaments.. We lost to Spain just a few minutes before the whistle, these are the severe consequences we have to endure due to this one destructive issue.. But nevertheless, I have confidence in you, Nagelsmann, and I'll continue to give you my support, because we are certainly developing, yes, we still have some weaknesses, but I'm sure we will become fearsome again..
