I do think we became a victim of our own success although corporations have been attributed to most of the inflationary increase while making record profits. Millions crossed the border under Trump. Trump just passed tax cuts, a million died under his term, and crime spiked during his last year.

I had jury duty in the summer of '19. I really wanted out of it when I got there, but as I listened to the others around me, I suddenly felt my civic duty to get on the jury. The jury pool was filled with people who had no business on a jury. Half of us that got picked were pretty level headed. The other half descended swiftly in quality. I was really, really shocked. I kept flashing on the play/movie 12 Angry Men. There were people on my jury that had no idea that a criminal verdict had to be unanimous (in our state, anyway), no idea what "reasonable doubt" was, kept interjecting weird personal statements about the kinds of people they knew who were like the defendant or a witness or a lawyer, or even declaring they know what is IN THE HEAD of the judge or a lawyer or the defendant...or even in the heads of those in the gallery. I've come to realize many people have never made a big, consequential decision in their entire lives, and when faced with one ("guilty" or "not guilty"), they go a little insane.

It's an assumption. Presidents are chosen by both policies and their capability to enact those policies. Once you agree with the policies mostly you then have to decide if the person should be your representative to enact them, and that's determined by their ability to speak convincingly among other things.

Republicans and democrats alike are biased to their own side and I'm trying to find the middle ground of unbiased news to get a complete view of both sides. For example one of the views I really want to hear about; trans people. It's painfully obvious that democrats try hard to paint them as anti-trans when some things the republicans have banned *_I literally agree with_* such as underage children being banned from life changing permanent treatment that they might regret and the only thing I wish wasn't banned is puberty blockers mostly because some kids need it as a necessity for medical reasons but that's an exception. But like- I get it! Those under 18? Hell those even under 25 should be waiting! I'm trans, or I feel I am and yes I have tried to think of myself as my bio gender but it makes my skin crawl like there are thousands of little spiders on me when I think of myself as my bio gender. I also do believe that all those claiming to be trans should be evaluated by a professional and get a second opinion and third opinion just to be sure. So I agree with some views of republicans. But, democrats have strong ideals that align with the good aspects I wish to see happen. But Biden isn't giving that full potential. Honestly, I don't know at this point who to vote for. If I can get full confirmation on the republican side and find out if I, as a trans person, am going to be safe with Trump as president again and that I can keep my basic rights as a civilian then I might go Trump. I mean to be fair a lot of people hate trump and don't know if they can stomach his temperament but then have seen Biden and are like "he's so bad and not even there", and so you still have these double haters and half of them still have tds, and half of them have seen trump slightly more reserved and had their minds changed on Biden before the midterms so it's just whether they stay home or vote trump atp. But the reality is the politician class recognizes that manipulation emotion is the key to winning elections. So you really end up with a permanent ruling class not different from royal families and elites of the past. You are trying to single out Trump, but all who want to win have to know how to appeal to and manipulate emotion. Everybody does it, and the ones who are not good at it lose, like Hillary. So, amidst all of this, how do you take emotion out of the voting process? You vote for the strength and wealth of the middle class. Whoever is good for the middle class, you vote that person. And here I am talking about tangible things, not emotion. I have a dentist friend who obviously would do well financially no matter who is president. But Trump caused him emotional distress, so he voted Biden. But if he were to evaluate who'd be better for the middle class at large, not him (since he's not middle class), he should have voted Trump and should be voting Trump in November.

It speaks volumes about the lack of critical thinking being exercised by Americans in this election, and how weighted everything is towards the superficial. I like how the last couple the woman at the end with her husband said they were going to vote for Trump and the look on the husband's face she changed her mind she's voting for Trump what is she that afraid of her husband what he might do to her she didn't vote for Trump there's still a lot of domestic abuse in this country that needs to be addressed and if we allow these Republicans to get into office we're going to have more of it
