I always felt part of the reason it got canceled was it wasn't on every week. It skipped a week or 2 a few times. I think it changed nights also. Makes it hard to build a following.

You can blame the then dimwit NBC President of Entertainment Garth Ancier for that nonsense, who claimed at the time he "didn't get the show." I love the fact Judd Apatow in response admitted in F&G documentary (2018) all of his follow up productions that included F&G alums were done specifically as revenge against the network for cancelling the show and building their stardoms in the process. 👏

Not one but two of the greatest shows in TV history. F&G is a high water mark rarely equalled, magnificent writing/cast, so original and brilliant. And Undeclared is like 2 steps behind. Nothing Apatow has, or will, done/do will surpass either.

Community is an amazing show for fans of Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared. I feel there's a spiritual evolution from F/G to College life in Undeclared and then what happens at that college is the show Community. This is not canon of course but the spiritual progression is there. There is even gags and bits from Undeclared that made it into Community. I think Dan Harmon was most def inspired by Undeclared (among other things). Sidenote: Why does the audience look like they were teleported in from 1981 lol. The hair and clothes look SO OLD for 2011. They dress like American Bandstand and Star Search are still on TV.

@@Thrifty032781 exactly. Honestly I didn’t think they were really making light of it as much as they were still unclear what or why it happened. But it was obviously a serious incident since everyone went to their trailers afterwards. I know Franco was a big deal when this reunion was happening but I get the sense it’s still a point of contention especially for Busy as it should be. But let’s not sit in judgement because they didn’t respond the way “MrEvolution513” says they should have. Maybe if he’d been there to moralize and put everyone in there place it would have been very healing for them all😐
