Man it looks like that dealer tricked you into buying new parallel linkage. But a guy might just save those parts for a year or 2 down the road. I am currently chisel plowing with our johndeere 8420 and a Glencoe soil savor 12 shank. We are having great weather but rain is coming. I plowed 120 acres yesterday. Today I did 45 acres but I'm replacing the points on the plow. We have everything plowed now we will run a digger or our salford over it before we plant. Nice video stay safe and farm on my friend !

A hint about drilling in metal---SLOW DOWN! Drilling at high speeds creates alot of heat, thus dulling and shortening the life of the bits. Also, use a lubricant--it will make drilling more efficient and easier, saving much frustration. Just some tips to make your jobs go a little smoother, and that's the object isn't it? Always enjoy your videos and looking forward to upcoming field work!

Get a hold of precision planter solutions and they make a bushings kits for those arms it's top knotch stuff will make it better then new and has replaceable bushings we did to a 1770nt 16 we set up for high speed along with the gauge wheel arms from coyote machine the planter is the way Deere should of built it and what work awesome for u air clutches is use a puma 12 volt compressor they pump fast and u would never run out of air thats what was in the 1770 before it was high-speed and we plant some chopped up stuff

Thanks for the great content, one side note, the solenoid you installed is mounted incorrectly, they should be mounted horizontal instead of vertical, if you have ever cut a solenoid apart you'll understand, the contacts inside the housing are magnetically controlled by the control circuit, if you mount them vertically they will burn the contacts prematurely due to the contacts breaking contact from bouncing up and down in the field, im a diesel mechanic and I have seen this over and over several times, quick easy fix just mount them on their sides! Again thanks for the great content!

Way to complicated for me. I'm from the area where you pulled the cord to trip the planter to start and pull to stop. It also raised it and dropped it. I thought that was a lot of mind work. Lol now I use a hand hoe and drop the seed in the ground. I believe it called gardening. Monitors, computers, data, soil temp man we wished we had a radio on the fender but we're not allowed that either.

Wonder if John Deere has the same programmers as Microsoft. It seems every 2 to 3 years a new model, windows or update has to be done as they stop selling/servicing the previous models... Corporate America- forcing customers to buy new items for the life of the item. Heck with as much as tractors cost you would think they would come with a lifetime upgrade on monitor/programming packages. Be safe - the video was awesome!

I'm impressed with Chet's mechanical abilities for a kid his age. If those twin electric air comps don't do the job you could look at putting a belt driven unit on the tractor. You could also put a small receiver tank on the planter so the electric units don't run so much.
