AS per my consideration, the hydrostatic pressure will simultaneously act on all walls. We have to add a combined load for this to take effect. Also wave pressure due to EQ has not been considered. We also have to ascertain that earth pressure dry and saturated/submerged does not give higher moments and stresses as compared to water pressure from inside only. such a large tank needs cover at top with manhole. The design is incomplete with these considerations. Please elaborate on these issues as well.
@venkateshs69299 ай бұрын
Actually that is not hydrostatic pressure. It is water pressure on side walls defined separatly..

Sir ji, very well explained. But the UGT side walls should be designed for empty condition with saturated soil pressure and base slab for empty condition for upward soil pressure. Please add load cases as well. Thank you!

Yes. Do you have any reference vel to help design UGT with critical condition you mentioned . If you have reference please share the link. Thank you so much

What about the load due to soil? Liquid retaining structures should confirm to IS 3370 and IS 1893 part 2.... analysis is incomplete without these

At sides of water tank only hydrostatic pressure is considered Why soil pressure is not considering in sides Also in suface load only soil pressure is considered why hydrostatic pressure is not considering here
@civilengineeringbyshravan95963 жыл бұрын
The load is applied in gravity direction only for water so for that reason we need to take pressure in bottom than sides
