Yea trademarks expire way sooner than copyrights do. You don't have to keep using a copyrighted work to keep the copyright as copyrights are in writing at least, supposed to protect creative expression (this is a damned lie of course as it does far more to hurt creative expression than it does to protect it because copyrights are monopolies and anyone who claims otherwise is either woefully uniformed or a corporate crony). Trademarks exist solely to protect brands though and a dead brand doesn't need a trademark.

@@snackerslc honestly I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt this way about Clash's cog designs. some of them are really good and fitting but a good chunk of them look more like OCs than actual cogs. Pacesetter is a good example, the fight itself is really cool conceptually but he looks like he was manufactured to look as much like a tumblr sexyman as possible, barely a cog.

Finding a break amongst the Toonfest craziness to say thank you for the bottom of my heart. When I applied to be a composer for Toontown Rewritten in 2021, I clearly remember seeing one of the new trailers and thinking "Man, that could really be me soon." Here I am. I could not be honored to score a better trailer, and I give all my love to Pablo/Datuntek for the fantastic video editing and our sound designer Noah for not only doing the SFX work but remastering my trailer theme. He even cut out a chunk of music to form the drop when it shows the Chairman! UNM was the first project I was ever assigned to at TTR and it's surreal knowing it's out. Onto the next! Also look closely and you may see my toon on the far left at 0:51!

I recently got back into toontown a couple weeks ago after my sister told me to hop on it, I haven’t played my account in years and then I shortly joined back and was pleasantly surprised about how fun it is and the cool updates! Thank you so much for using the money out of your own pockets and still keeping toontown community alive for so many years it means so much to all of us and hope it continues for many years to come. I can’t wait to find out what’s behind that mystery cloud as well hehe

Read the patch notes: No significant rewards other than cosmetic effect, you can choose to wear any older cog suits from the respective department, doubles the drop rate for items which the new supervisors can give, you retain the ability to fight boss cogs with a v2.0 suit but it gets promoted only if enough department experience is gained for the next level.

Alright TTR, it's time for me to give some feedback regarding the update. I first of all wanna say that I think this update overall does a good job making the grind for your cog suits more bearable. It also adds room for unique strategies that encourage thinking outside the box and being efficient. That being said, I feel this update has a lot of misses, and it just feels unfinished. I've noticed that the supervisors are almost exactly identical to what they were like in the playtest demos, and many times they feel underwhelming, especially the Foreman. As it stands now I feel the supervisors are little TOO easy. The Foreman can be one shot by certain gag combinations, and all of them are affected by Toons Hit and Cogs Miss normally. At the very least, hardmode supervisors should be given a slight health boost, immunity to Cogs Miss, and maybe an additional cheat to differentiate them from easy modes. The new cog attacks were a great idea, but as it stands now they aren't exactly appealing. I'm not mad at the fact that attacks are basically AOE versions of singular attacks, but a good chunk of them don't feel smooth and should be expanded upon. For instance, Beguile. When I first read that tier 8s were gonna get unique attacks, I felt excited. But was disappointed to see the final product. The idea of the cog doing a sales pitch should use a unique animation where the cog is holding up and concealing a product, and THEN throw the sparkles at the Toon. On top of that, the sparkles should go towards all Toons, not just one. After all, it is an AOE. If the Supervisors can get unique animations, why not all the cogs with new attacks? Now, to address the elephant in the room. V2.0 suits. When the ARG for UNM first dropped, and it was implied that 2.0 suits were going to be a thing, I had believed that we were getting hardmode bosses. I was not only disappointed when I read the patch notes and saw that 2.0 suits were not only not related to hardmode bosses, but that the merit, cogbuck, etc. requirement for them are DOUBLE for regular suits. And the reward for maxing just one 2.0 suit being a single outfit just feels very disappointing. I understand that this is meant to be an optional grind, but I am a completionist, and even if content is optional, my goal is to usually complete it 100%, and right now, I just feel unmotivated. I get that the reason 2.0 suits were added was to give a reason for maxxed players to fight the supervisors, but this just has the opposite effect on me, and after a couple levels in the Sellbot 2.0 suit, I just feel discouraged to continue. I understand that the TTR team are unpaid volunteers and all, and don't take this the wrong way, but the whole update feels rushed and unfinished and the time and effort spent on 2.0 suits would've been better off on other aspects of the update. I believe that the best thing for 2.0 suits would be that they either get removed from the game completely and the features with them are added to standard suits, that 2.0 suits should be reserved for things like hardmode bosses which provide more laff points to be earned, OR that 2.0 suits should provide more rewards or other QOL that would make the extra grind for them to be worth it. Things such as double rewards, just to provide an example. I felt that this update had the potential to be awesome, and while it does fix some of the issues with the standard cog grind, it still adds some problems that need to be fixed. And I hope you take my suggestions into consideration. I know you are truly good-hearted individuals.

I’m not sure about making the supervisors harder since y’know.. games gotta be casual since it IS designed for kids But I’m definitely with you on the 2.0s Suits. In my opinion they’re just so much wasted potential. All you’re doing is essentially just maxing each boss Twice. No motive, no real reward. It’s literally the biggest waste of time, and I feel like if the 140s who maxed before the update REALLY wanted something to do, they could have just made another toon. All nitpicks aside, I feel like the 2.0 suits could have been a great addition with either Harder versions of the bosses, or reserved for super endgame content like with the Executive office tower, or something.

@@333ternalthere already are higher levels cogs, the field offices and if I remember correctly the Cashbot’s mini-boss can also promote cogs. Here the thing though 4 fogs ins’t enough to kill a level 14 cog. And so you have to be very strategic in the 3 and 4 star field offices.

@@333ternal I think they want to keep the game simple (like ToonTown Online), it is nice to play a chill game every now and then. One way they are upgrading the difficulty while keeping it simple and relaxing is with things like the Field Offices and now these mini-bosses (who know what will be their next big update, I am hoping for the mystery of the Executive Office in Bossbot HQ (a building that wasn’t even in the ToonTown Online from my research) to be solved). That or the Lawbot Offices (that according to my research was planned, but never came to TTO). That is shown in the TTR trailer.

Personally, I don't like the update. It's not a bad update and I see you've put a lot of work into it but I play TTR and not TTCC because it is most like TTO. It doesn't have revamped bosses, buildings, playgrounds. It's practically the same as it was when I was a kid. All the changes the update brings put me off.

Maxing your regular suits is semi-optional. Not optional if you want all 140 Laff points. You also start from Tier 8 as a Level 8.
