This reminds me of a game on the PS1 called Radikal Bikers, where you had to deliver pizza while racing against a rival. It also had multiplayer and it was one of the games I played the most with my cousin...

I remember me and my brother playing this game growing up. We played it almost daily for a while. We would always race to knock King Kong off the tower 😂

I remember picking up this game at a Blockbuster when I was a kid because I thought the cover looked interesting. In retrospect this game is disappointingly barebones for a console port, but man I still remember it to this day because of how fun it was to find those shortcuts. Like for something you'll only ever see for a couple seconds, it was really addicting replaying the levels and seeing what kind of unique environments were hidden off the main path. Taking a quick turn and being able to drive through a basketball court or down an elevator shaft hidden in the level felt incredibly rewarding.

I actually played Smashing Drive in an arcade when I was 7! But I never knew it was available on GameCube. Shame too. Despite how short it is, I would have bought it just because I think it hits right, and the music’s so stupid that it’s catchy.

I wish I could have played this on a full arcade machine! Idk if you still have a GameCube or Xbox, but it’s an easy game to find. And that music has been stuck in my head all week 😂

Great review, and very accurate. I still went out and got a copy on eBay for about $14.00 complete. It is still a lot of fun to pick up and play.

This was the full 50$ back in 2002. I was mistakenly gifted this instead of Crazy Taxi back in 2003. A fun game but I'm glad I didn't fork out the cash for it.

Great job on covering this intriguing gem in racing arcade game history. This is the first review I’ve watched on your channel and I like your style of humour already! =) I remember playing the arcade version when my family and I were on vacation in Gran Canaria. I was a huge fan of this game’s predecessor, Radikal Bikers, since first playing it in arcades in Majorca, Spain. Indeed, the Batman-style intro and Crazy Taxi-aesthetic compelled me to play this game. But I found that the arcade game vibrated too violently for comfort and this game suffered from “fake difficulty” due to its tight time limits. So, if I had to pick between this game and Radikal Bikers, I’d go with Radikal Bikers any day.

Sounds brutal for a full priced game, but not surprising. Wouldn''t be the first game drastically overpriced where they have a fun concept but not enough content. Won't be the last.

You’re absolutely right. Prices can definitely affect the worth of a game. As a download this game would be perfect . At $40 it’s a ripoff.

Endless play tho, u don’t have to pay every time you want to play, if you played it 50 times in arcades, you payed $50, if you payed $50 for the console version, then you can play it as many times as you want.

I've played head to head mode before and it doesn't really ad much because usually one person ends up messing up the other person and no one makes it to the end of the route.

This would be so cheap at Gamestop but I never picked it up I guess because the reviews were so bad. But I've only heard good things lately, kind of a missed opportunity.

The reviews were truly unkind, but that positivity I’ve heard lately made me want to give it a shot. I’m glad I did, honestly. My copy was $5 I think from a local retro game store, and if you can find a copy at that price, I’d probably recommend it.

This is a game I really love. One that I wish they'd make a remaster of or a sequel to. Fun fact: it was developed by a Spanish company!
