Firing the manager would have been more impactful than the employee. There is no way the effect of that employee's racism on customers could be measured. The manager had complete control of this and intentionally allowed it to continue. Managing people is just as important as managing materials. When other employees see management allowing bad behavior they question the entire leadership structure and become less engaged. A racist working for a black owned company being racist? Who's hiring these people?
