It amazes me how many people see a bulb go out and think, "oh no, better call an electrician". What happened to all the folks who would change their own bulbs?
@thomas909107 жыл бұрын
Mr.Mister yeah I'm 15 and I have replaced sockets switches and whole light fittings replacing a bulb is really easy.

Calling an electrician for a change of lightbulb. That would cost loads where I live.
@iPelaaja17 жыл бұрын
minimalistinlife Looks kinda lika a communal stairway. In that case the council might require a ”trusted trader” to do repair jobs. Also puts the liability and responsability on them rather than having the tenants falling off ladders electrocuting themselves. And pretty much everyone rents anyways so its the landlords who pay, so it doesnt matter to the tenants.
@ryanmg927 жыл бұрын
iPelaaja1 that, plus when they are living London, paying twice what my mortgage is on a 4 bed house, for a 2 bed flat, you kinda would be like, fuck the landlord, he can pay for the bulb etc

Still light at 8pm! Jo'burg is never light at 8pm. But then Jo'burg is never pitch dark at 5pm either. It's also winter and today was 21°C down to 6°C tonight with no rain in sight 😊

How much do you charge to replace a lightbulb? :-/
@hassasinali79796 жыл бұрын
Image-i-Nation Photography £50 a point. Any appliance I touch I charge a standard £50 big or small. Although I don't always get paid that much. If it's changing a bulb and nothing extra behind it, that can be free depending on the people your working for. If they're nice you can let em off.

This sort of confusion is inevitable when a trade body tries to change the English language. My house has always had ring mains,they're my ring mains in my house but now some busybody wants to call them ring final circuits. Much of the electrical terminology seems to be unnecessarily verbose. It's ok when electricians are chatting amongst themselves but they need to realise that Joe Public doesn't speak the same language.

number 33 seems to happen in every profession that lends it's self to becoming a part of a person's personality instead of a job. It becomes a club with secret passwords and weird words set by regulatory bodies on a whim.

dont residents ever give you visitor scratchcards? i always give tradesmen visitor scratchcards which give them 6 hours parking, i buy them from my council for £12 for 10 cards. so works out £1.20 each, peanuts and i never ask for them to pay me back for them.
