Taken from episode 2 of Baby Chimp Rescue
Jenny and Jim Desmond are parents to an unusual and very large family - over twenty orphaned baby chimpanzees. Their home in Liberia is rapidly becoming too small for this rambunctious troop of animals, so they’re building a sanctuary in the forest. But before the babies can move out, they need to learn how to live like wild chimps. They need to attend a baby chimp school.
Welcome to BBC EARTH! The world is an amazing place full of stories, beauty and natural wonder. Here you'll find 50 years worth of entertaining and thought-provoking natural history content. Dramatic, rare, and exclusive, nature doesn't get more exciting than this.

The saddest thing is that little miracle as she was named caught a cold got a chest infection and died. Jimmy and Jenny Desmond were devastated as they felt they had let her down. Jimmy in this video became a happy chimp and lost all his aggression. Just shows you what love can do. 🐒🐵💞

I do not think so. She is only interested in her "beloved" chimps. At minute 0:28 you can see a starving human child, maybe 2 or 3 years old, but Mrs. Desmond does not show any interest in the child's fate. She has only eyes for the "poor baby chimpanzees" and she knows how to stage herself as a rescuer.

This breaks my heart. Chimps are social animals, and have close bonds with each other. To be separated and isolated is a living hell. And giving a chimp alcohol is despicable. It's poverty that causes trafficking.

Jeva Samy im not defending the actions of poachers but its pretty easy for us to say that we hate them when we have food electricity and other first world luxuries. I feel that a lot of the poachers are probably pushed to do what they do just to feed their families and survive in a poverty stricken country. In the end we should still do everything we can to stop them. But we dont need to hate them
