@@GLA45Amg716 I like alot about his game. If people would have ranked Puka Nacua 1st last year literally everyone including myself would have laughed. But he was the most productive rookie by far & that was in large part due to his skills. The main one being able to create seperation in short area, catch the ball consistently & run after the catch sufficiently. If you can do those 3 things and do it with a quality QB to boot you're gonna be extremely productive. Ladd is a notch above Puka if not 2 notches. There's not alot to his game that limits his potential for high productivity.

Something about Coleman tho! Despite that 40 time, when you watch him play there is just something special there that I think will make him do great things in Buffalo with 17. With Josh often scrambling out his receivers need to be fluid enough to adjust and Coleman seems to be very strong in that regard. So his 40 time doesn’t matter there. We’ll see tho.

My Top 14 WRs- Truly Elite: -Nabers (CeeDee) ELITE separator, insane burst, accelerates in and out of cuts (like AB), excellent body control, YAC beast, Biletnikoff snub, DOG, questionable release package, best in slot/z -MHJ (Aiyuk) Exceptional route runner, extremely fluid, good separator (not special), elite body control, excellent off the line (especially against press), average YAC ability, no second gear, prototypical X (Probably would’ve been my WR1 5 years ago, but not with modern offenses) Round 1: -Odunze (DHop/Courtland Sutton) Good X receiver (a better 2nd option on a team than first), smooth mover, physical, average route runner, lacks burst, YAC concerns, 1 gear, excels in 50/50 situations (won at 68% clip) -AD Mitchell (Tee) Good hand-fighting usage, excellent ball tracking, very good route runner, strong body control, could attack better at the catch point, inconsistent effort, very poor advanced metrics, high ceiling-low floor -Brian Thomas (Nico) Prototypical X, big, fast, solid jump ball skillset, strong hands, elite speed and YAC, excellent feet near the sideline, struggles to get in and out of breaks (ran basic route tree) Day 1 Starter: -Roman Wilson (ARSB) Quick release, strong hands, makes difficult catches, solid route runner, unguardable at Senior Bowl, underrated due to Michigan offense? -Ricky Pearsall (Diontae) Shifty, great body control, attacks catch point well, excellent route runner, elite hands, old prospect -Ladd McConkey (Garrett Wilson) Very good route runner, smooth, twitchy, quick feet, can play inside or out, YAC skills, struggles heavily against press and in contested situations -Jalen McMillan (DeVonta Smith) Nuanced release package, smooth mover, legit in-game speed, solid separator and route runner, doesn’t fight very well through contact, underrated due to injury? (Was 1,000+ yard guy in ‘22) Boom/Bust: -Javon Baker (DJ Moore?) Not the most natural route runner but very technically sound, makes difficult catches, YAC stud, dog mentality, runs w/ heavy feet at times -Xavier Legette (Wish DK) Late breakout, high effort/energy, often out-athletes guys, attacks the catch point well, can struggle to separate, inconsistent route runner -Troy Franklin (Jalin Hyatt) Decent YAC ability, twitchy with the ball in his hands, elite game speed, can get bullied by bigger CBs, questionable route tree, not consistent over the middle of the field, strict deep threat? -Jalynn Polk (small Mike Williams) Aggressively attacks the catch point, strong hands (best in class imo), excellent jump-ball skills, totally disappeared at times (two catchless games), slow release off line, not a separator -Xavier Worthy (Baltimore Hollywood) Good ball-tracking skills, elite speed, solid deep threat, basic route tree (post, go, screen), easily pushed off the ball by DBs, no contested catch chops (27% clip) Sleepers: -Malik Washington (Zay Flowers) Elite burst, human joystick, YAC stud, production machine, real size concerns -Jalen Coker (Drake London?) Nuanced release package, exceptional hands catcher, crisp route runner, attacks the catch point, dominated poor competition (how good is he really?) -Malachi Corley (“Deebo”) Former RB, YAC god, DOG, needs to develop NFL route tree, horrible in contested situations (25% clip) -Tahj Washington (Tutu Atwell) Tons of juice, super clean in and out of cuts, legit in-game speed, fun manufactured touch guy, very thin frame

@DirtbagLexi5 ай бұрын
@@dylanhawthorne4842 I knew it was a hot take so I'm prepared to explain. I think Pearsall has the potential to be a better NFL player than college player if that makes sense. Doesn't drop the ball period, can catch the ball outside his frame, has plus speed, his leaping ability and knack to time it correctly helps negate his shorter arms, incredible change of direction and fluidity in his routes. It's less that I hate Brian Thomas Jr, McConkey, etc and more that I think Pearsall has it in him to be the next elite slot receiver that can take snaps at the Z position when needed in 12 personnel. My biggest knock is that he can't play X receiver. Needs the right landing spot like all players do but I think his upside is being undersold. I am just straight up lower on Franklin, I worry about his ability to absorb contact through the route and still catching the ball since his hands are a little worse than I wanted to see. Doesn't look as fluid and natural as a pass catcher as I was expecting. His speed is good but there's faster guys than him in the draft. I think he benefited a lot from wider hash marks in college where he could use his speed to create those explosive plays and when things are more condensed in the NFL I have concerns, especially with his thin frame and inability to break tackles. I think it's the inverse of Pearsall where I have concerns about how his game translates to the next level even if he was incredibly productive.

I’ve been watching the single player videos and this was much needed. The data, stats, and logic for your lists is impeccable, especially compared to the rest of the industry. I walk away feeling armed with knowledge to make some informed decisions in my upcoming rookie draft. A little about me…I’ve been absorbing 2024 rookie videos and podcasts for MONTHS because this is going to be a monster year for my dynasty squad. I detonated my team a couple years ago and intentionally sought out trades for 2024 rookie picks because of the insane talent this class promised. Many dynasty owners gave up their 1sts for “win now” assets that honestly weren’t THAT sexy, but 2024 seemed like forever away back then for these owners. 1.5 to 2 years later I am finally about to cash in and so I’m doing my homework to make this league pay for the instant gratification they enjoyed back in 2022. Lmao My draft picks in a 12 team league include all of the following: 1.01, 1.02, 1.03, 1.04, 1.05, 1.07, 1.08, and 1.12. I also have 4 second round picks as well including the 2.03. A way different list than consensus, but I like it a lot. I also worry about that the Texas guys. Hyatt looked mighty good his last season there.. and Mitchell doesn’t even have close to his stats. Also it’s weird to me that people are low on guys like Penix, Polk, Franklin, Bucky Irvine, etc, but then are completely ok saying Odunze is near Nabers and MHJ. Like if you just compare him to Franklin, his production is only slightly better against basically the same competition. Yeah he’s much heavier snd 1 inch taller. Outside of that though, both tested extremely similarly at the combine. Both had problems with staying upright after first contact. Franklin was actually better at separating and had a better junior season. He’s just is early declare so can’t have the excellent senior season that Rome had… Bottom line is I don’t is if you like both that’s fine. But too many people are like “yeah I want to draft Rome in the 4th round of Fantasy but can’t stomach drafting Franklin in the 10th…

Jermaine Burton reminds me of a bigger Doug Baldwin or Julian Edelman. Physical slot that can run through contact and break a tackle or two for some YAC. If he lands somewhere he can start as the WR3 and learn behind a couple vets (maybe Chicago?), he could be a really good NFL receiver. I’ll give my Top 20 receivers: WR1: Marvin Harrison WR2: Malik Nabers WR3: Rome Odunze WR4: Brian Thomas Jr. WR5: Adonai Mitchell WR6: Xavier Worthy WR7: Ladd McConkey WR8: Keon Coleman WR9: Ricky Pearsall WR10: Jermaine Burton WR11: Troy Franklin WR12: Xavier Legette WR13: Ja’Lynn Polk WR14: Roman Wilson WR15: Javon Baker WR16: Jalen McMillan WR17: Malachi Corley WR18: Tez Walker WR19: Johnny Wilson WR20: Jacob Cowing

His leaping ability is huge for him and can help him play the Z receiver (he also has good height and adequate weight). Shorter arms keep him from probably ever reliably playing the X receiver and beating press coverage but he's not a pure slot. That said I think his incredible change of direction makes him the most effective out of the slot. He has all the tools you need to reach Amon-Ra Saint Brown or Cooper Kupp levels of productivity as a majority slot player if his body can hold up to an increased workload compared to what he was asked to produce in college. Like we have durability concerns with Ladd handling that level of production, we don't know if Pearsall would have that issue (still absolutely love Ladd though, easily a fringe first rounder).

Always hear these "experts" drop guys because of the offense they were in. So, if a guy just runs certain routes in college he can't run anything else? Always remember when AJ Brown, a slot only guy lasted until the 2nd round and Metcalf, a guy who can only run stright fly patters lasted to the end of the 2nd round.
@SplitSauce22895 ай бұрын
I'm pretty positive that the Colts are going offense round 1. If you are the Colts, are you taking BTJr at 15, trading back a few picks and taking Xavier Worthy, or trading up to 9 for Bowers (which would probably cost next year's first round pick)? I'm staying put and taking BTJr if possible, but Worthy could be insane in Steichan's offense. You could swap him with Downs in the slot and outside depending on the play. I still like BTjr a lot more. Bowers at 15 makes sense, but a trade up doesn't.

Bills fan. Hoping for Brian Thomas Jr. or Ladd McConkey to fall to 28. I have a sinking feeling it will be AD Mitchell, or another position. Brian Thomas Jr is going to be a steal for someone. A pure X WR that has a 10-15 yr career in the NFL with multiple 1000 yard seasons. In Bills terms an Eric Moulds type of complete WR. Ladd McConkey is a mix of Stevie Johnson (moves) and Cole Beasley (size). I can see him being trouble from day 1 and growing into an Edelman style pain in the @ss for other teams. Also would be a great get. Not a WR1. AD Mitchell has the best boom or bust potential. His highs could be better than Thomas Jr or McConkey, but his lows could be awful. He feels the most like Sammy Watkins. Could be great, but doesn't have it, unless he does.

I think Jalen Coker is this year's version of Puka Nacua. I know you've had Steve Smith Sr on your show before, and I'm sure you've seen what he has to say about Coker, but if you haven't seen his comments you should take a look and I fully agree with what he said. Also, compare their combine numbers and while I'm sure you could do that with a few other wide receivers it does seem to line up.

Comparing combine numbers means nothing.

@@brianp9268 every single professional scout would disagree with you, otherwise they would never give player comps nor would they use it to evaluate draft potential. You can say you don't believe the combine should be much of a factor and that play on the field should matter most but you can't say combine numbers don't matter, full stop. Every single player in this video they talk about combine numbers, and clearly they matter.
