A couple of thoughts from an electrician who has done high voltage connections: Acetone is bad carcinogen, and damages skin tissue. We were always required to wear gloves when cleaning with solvents, and it does not make sense to clean with acetone, and then touch high voltage components with bare hands that will leave behind residue. We were never allowed to touch the high voltage components with bare hands once cleaning commenced.

21:50 the cable plug should be mounted 180 degrees with the grooves to the contact area with Penetrox or similar.

Thank you for sharing the Video and it is very clear. I have one questions regarding a project I am involved, the contractor has proposed to apply welding to connect the two core conductors in straight through joints. Do you think it is good option to use welding instead of crimping?
