A war movie depicting the German Nazi Resistance opposing the Nazis in World War II, focusing on two brothers who are on opposite sides of the conflict. The film follows Kurt Franken, a German-American who returns to Germany after World War I and becomes a radio engineer. He is disillusioned by the Nazi regime and joins an underground resistance group led by a woman he falls in love with. His brother Eric, however, is a loyal SS officer who believes in Hitler’s vision.

The film was released in 1941, shortly before the US entered the war after the attack on Pearl Harbor. It was produced by Warner Bros. as part of its public relations campaign to support the Allied cause in World War II. It was based on a story by Edwin Justus Mayer and Oliver H.P. Garrett, who also wrote the screenplay for Confessions of a Nazi Spy (1939), another anti-Nazi propaganda film by Warner Bros.

There are millions of brave people resisting fascism and capitalism today all around the world. They get killed or imprisoned. One example is Julian Assange but there are vast numbers of others.

Not only historically interesting, but probably based on fact. The acting was excellent and the film easy to follow. Such brave people. Even though I was hurt and emotional at the end, I thank you sincerely for this post...an amazing film.

Classic movies captured the audience with its music and superior acting. While the video may not have been as perfect in today's standards, the filming and camera angles made the video superior.

Good Watch Was surprised to see the two actors portraying the wicked colonel (Martin Kosleck) and his secretary (Mona Maris) in identical roles in "Berlin Correspondent" and she backstabs him in both!

I was wondering where I had seen him before in a movie...So many of the actors in these movies made a lot of this type of movie. With so many streaming channels running old movies, I don't watch very many new movies, let alone go out to an actual movie theater. Sad.

This film was the targetb= of right-wing members of the House of Representives for being "anti-German." Martin Kosleck, who played the evil Col. Heller, was a gay Czech actor who knew what would happen had he stayed in Czechoslavakia duing the rise of Nazism. He was a marvelous actor.
