In a lot of ways this very well could be their best album, I feel like if it came out today it would still be very much revelant. Thats despite their unique lineup departure at that time, it's a very dark and underrated album. I think that's why I like it the best, dare I say it's there and justice for all!

In completion gives me chills every time, nearly sheds me a tear. Everything from production, to riffs, to Spencer’s vocal performance absolutely blows me away. His lyrics are probably some of my favorite of all time. This album flows so fluently. I’m so glad that Aaron took a hiatus and this was the result because it’s one of my all time favorite records.

I think Spencer made it clear a long time ago and also a lot of similr artist have throughout the years. eventually they just don't like making the same music , it's not they hate it but they just moves on. Some good underoath clones I've found were. Aglacia (very define the line influenced) Overseer (i barely listened to them) To speak of wolves (Spencer bro is in there) noiser type sound
@tehZuko
@tehZuko 4 жыл бұрын
@@khadeem56 I think most gripes about the album aren't that it's different, it's that it lacked any resemblance to the experimental willingness and depth of the previous albums. Changing boxes is fine, but preferably you'd still think outside of it during your process, and MAYBE they did, but the result doesn't reflect that.

This was a very dark time for the band I think bringing up a album that the haven’t listened to in years brings up fresh memories of allot of animosity and despair like Spencer’s drug out of control alcohol and cocaine addiction and Aaron leaving the band was probably really hard on them and Tim’s identity crisis and the bands eventual breakup took a tole on them so I understand

This album is my favorite Underoath album of all time, no matter how much hate it gets. I listen to it at least twice a week and have owned it 3 times (played it so much that I broke the first 2 albums). This is definitely their best record to date. Musically is heavy, dynamic and complex. Lyrically is very dark and introspective. And vocally is a masterpiece. I don't know if they can repeat or replicate an album like this one. Something like this album, it is the "one hit wonder" in a discography.

I love this so much. I love this band so much. This albums means so much to me, I truly adore it. A very unique record altogether. About every winter since I’ve heard it I put it in regular rotation. I love Aaron so much for coming and being there. And Matt, I didn’t think he’d stay until the end but I’m so happy he did 🤩 the production on this album is absolutely perfect too. A decade later there’s still few records that too the quality of the production. And like no one had the electronic elements incorporated into their songs like they did back then. FUCK I LOVE THIS/MISS THIS TIME When I first heard the record, Paper Lung was my everything. I wanted a post rock Underoath so bad. I think Driftwood was the next song I really opened up to… but the WHOLE album in its entirety is a magical experience. And I can’t fucking believe how the Vacant Mouth is the Arcarsenal intro. I’m a huge fan of both bands but WHAT THE FUCK, I NEVER PUT 2 and 2 together. I think UØ get called ‘metalcore’ a lot, but everything you guys reference is not metal or metalcore in my mind ahah.

Are there any of these where Spencer talks about Sleepwave?

For the longest time I couldn't get into this album. I thought it was their worst album (since Spencer joined) that they'd made. I remember In Division coming up on shuffle and going back to it yeras after release and was just shocked because I loved it. I'd be down for them returning to this sound.

Deberían de hacer un live section con este álbum, por el bien de la humanidad.

This album is underrated. At the time I only cared about Vacant Mouth. I've opened up to it and like the album as a whole but no songs make me gush like Vacant.
