That’s hilarious, hearing him talk about the eye contact thing. I used to joke that when I saw them play at give it a name Chris pointed at me and just proceeded to go ham and it’s still one thing I remember the most about the show. My friends obviously thought I was just talking shit, but now I’m convinced that was the genuine intention.

I just want to say I love this new album and I love this series that covers it in detail. I'm always pumped when a new episode comes out to hear the inner workings. Chris talking about keying in on particular fans and their reactions is what music is all about.

Chris, on behalf of everyone.. I need you to know. When we call you crazy or a manic. We mean it as the highest form of compliment! You usually look like the only reason you're not right there in the moshpit with us is because some pesky people keep making you do keyboards and stuff, and that is (to me atleast) is the coolest thing ever.
@paulsanders53082 жыл бұрын
Agreed. The fans love it. I think it's just so unexpected on the keys. If you played guitar and rocked out it would be less of a notable thing but you'd still be legendary because you go so hard. UO is all about energy as a collective. You add to that big time. Keep doing you.

I can totally relate to the whole meeting Dallas over a shirt thing. Back in 2008 I was a freshman in high school. Very shy and just kept to myself. One morning while I was in the hall waiting for Spanish class to open up, I noticed my classmate wearing an Underoath shirt. I was debating saying something, because of my social anxiety but with Underoath being my fave band and not seeing many of their shirts around I HAD to make a comment. So I simply said “love your shirt”. Fast forward 14 years later and the guy wearing that UO shirt and I have 2 children and have been living life together since. I often think where my life would be had I not had that interaction over an Underoath shirt. I guarantee I wouldn’t of had the balls to say a word to him. My 2 greatest blessings (my 2 boys) have come from that interaction back in 2008. Love Underoath so much, and I love where my life has ended up as a result of being a fan :) ❤

not sure if Chris wrote the synth part on Angel Below verse1, but dang i wish Underoath would lean into the synth for another part like that for a future song. It's like metal Motion City Sountrack lmao
@JoeLaFon32 жыл бұрын
He didn't write that Dallas did. I know whatchu mean you want a more defined synth lead bit here n there. Things are very different now with how they write idk if we'll get anything like that anytime soon

I'm not sure of you're talking about the same thing but I loved I see stars new demons album because it was heavy on the synth

I'd like to know what Chris thinks of with people interpreting the lyrics in Voyeurist as anti organized religion to some. I've always loved UO even when they identified as Christian metal. Being atheist, I strongly identify with the songs on this LP and would like more insight into that aspect of this record

31:30 i forced my friend to go with me the first couple times i saw UO because i didn't want to go alone (got over that) and he would always just talk about Chris' energy afterwards. he didn't like metal, but he liked UO enough to stand in the back while i raged in the pit lol

i've been an UO fan since 2004 when i heard Reinventing Your Exit, and i remember finding the Changing of Times in Walmart and being super interested about the line-up difference in the booklet. This interview was really cool for me because i've always been too interested about the history of the arrival and departure of band members.

I am always disappointed that foreigner documentaries about music for an example are never translated in french because I cannot understand english language although I know how to speak it a little bit. However I know Underoath is a excellent band who makes a good work with their music. I have been discoverering them for several years.

hello, I recently found out about this group and saw that it was a Christian group, but then I saw that the group ceased to be Christian in 2018, I have a question, are the members of the group still Christians? (I apologize if something is not clear, I wrote from a translator).

I completely disagree with what Chris says about creation. The universe doesn't owe us any kind of meaning to life. That's up to us. And how he states that us just floating about in space seems silly. I think the universe has no clue we exist. I understand wanting to feel special, but we're not. Once you let go of that weight, living becomes easier imo
@kennethgamble54982 жыл бұрын
After spending a lot of time in church.. most Christians feel lost if they don't have meaning. Having no meaning or importance is terrifying to loads of Christians. I'm with you, you find your own meaning even if it doesn't have significant meaning.
