Love your sense of humour lol! And yes I agree, I think spattering is the adult version of mud puddles 😊. It is so satisfying isn’t it? The card is great, so different. Thanks for sharing.

What an adorable technique! Omg, you just lit some fires! I didn't come at this from scrapbooking or junk journaling -- got here from being a tech illustrator & graphic designer when I was really faking being grown up. And, art quilting + miniatures. Card making employs SO many different disciplines, techniques & crafts. It's one of the (many) handmade vs digital that I cling to, still. Digital = cool! But, handmade is awesome. Thx for teaching, such a darling card!

Thanks for sharing this technique. I have several "vintage" vehicles (planes, cars, motorcycles, etc) stamps and dies that would do great on this. HINT: fold down an end of the tape before putting it on the packaging. That would make it easier to pull up. Then just snip off the folded piece after removing the tape.

That would have been smart! Thank you for that tip!

Thanks so much for the chuckles, Lydia. And I was laughing WITH you, not AT you. :) I actually saw Lindsay Adreon at Crafting While Caffeinated do a similar technique for faux-vintage tape. She used alcohol markers (e.g. Copics, Olos, etc.) rather than alcohol ink. I think she also emphasized glossy tape, I suppose for a more authentic vintage look. I asked her in that video if Sharpie markers would work, & she said they should. At any rate, for people who don't have alcohol inks or can't tolerate the odor (which was Lindsay's point), that might be another option. I LOVE how your card came out, though. My brother and SIL would really love the plane theme. He is a certified pilot & works for a company that makes/repairs airplane components. She just loves planes (he does, too, of course). They are both WWII buffs as well, so the vintage look of your card would only make it that much better for them. Anyway, thank you for sharing. I hope y'all are surviving the storms that have been rolling through for forever. :P Other than our TV antenna getting blown over by high winds, we've fared pretty well overall. (Thankfully my brother was able to replace the mast & get the antenna back up & working.) Fingers crossed it stays that way. Take care, & have an awesome day! :)

STAMPING WITH STENCIL? BRILLIANT!!! How didn't I come up with it?😜 Very nicely done. PS: Vintage tape is a new trick to me, so if I had done it based on your experience, I would have let one end of it wet with water so it wouldn't stick and be easy to peel. Do you think it will work?
