Hi Mr Gunn, This video was really insightful. But I have a few questions: 1) Can consequence & causation be interchangeable? 2) Can change + continuity & similarity + difference be interchangeable? 3) How would you tell the difference between causation + consequence in a question?

Hi. Thanks for the comment. I've answered as best I can! 1) I think the criteria could be interchangeable in the sense that how you judge the extent that something caused something (long vs. short term, widespread v. narrow, etc) could also be used for consequence. 2) Similarly, change and continuity questions are about the extent of change and similarity and difference are about the extent of difference, so criteria could be interchangeable too. 3) This can be tricky, because causes lead to consequences so they are incredibly similar. As the criteria is largely interchangeable, I wouldn't worry too much about working it out as long as you are aware it's one or the other. Causation questions might be more 'How far do you agree that X was the main cause of...' whereas consequence questions might be 'To what extent was the most significant impact of (something) X'. I hope that's clear enough and helps! Thanks again for the comment.
