Sometimes you lie in bed at night and you don't have a single thing to worry about. That always worries me!

It's interesting that this worries you! Having nothing to worry about is the state most people seek to be in. Try to cherish it, my friend! 😊😊

What is abnormal to me is only what I see differing from my homelife, then society or years of a school setting, changing over time as I see normal through different lenses through other cultures. What's normal is always changing, so is abnormal behavior unless its something medically affecting the individual's health in a negative way.

Hello! Yes, that's true. The social perception of normal and abnormal will keep evolving. What's abnormal today might become normal tomorrow. I therefore clarified that we're focusing on the scientific definition of abnormal behaviour which implies that abnormal behaviour is a combination of personal distress, psychological dysfunction, deviance from social norms, and the hostility towards oneself and others. 🙂

Hello buddy. I am really sorry to know this. Since I don't know your circumstances, I can only hope things get better for you. If it's feasible for you, please save up and move out asap. If you don't have the resources to do so, go to a relative or friend and spend a few days/weeks there. You will get a break from your environment and be able to think logically. All the best buddy!

I'm a tech student but have much interest in learning about psychology. Have taken some courses from YT, as I wanna understand myself. To me, Abnormality is seeing the world from a different perspective but yeah still we can't deny mental illness. But Laing's perspective is still confusion to me.

That's great, Saher. I hope your love for psychology keeps developing further. As you know, psychology is useful in everyday life and also in business. Laing's perspective is a very interesting one. Once could argue and agree on the social infliction of abnormality. But most would agree that there are certain disorders that would need mainstream treatment and therapy.

Is it wrong that I think neurotypical = normal and autistic = abnormal? That I think autistic people are weird and don't fit in right? Is that so wrong?

Mixing activity is a product of abnormal psychology For example, The mix Christianity X unrelated topics. People who understand figurative things quickly (a few seconds or a few minutes) do not have abnormal psychology. For empty individuals, all Christian subjects are useless like Hope, Heaven, Hell, Jesus Christ, or the scripture. For individuals with abnormal psychology, Jesus Christ, Angels, Prophets, Apostles, and God, are sasquatch, UFOs, vampires, etc. Subjective claims and psychological cognitive biases do not affect subjects related to Heaven and Hell. If some individuals believe getting to Heaven is useless, it has no effect at all. If some individuals believe Jesus Christ is a sasquatch, it has no effect at all. The real witches have subjective claims and psychological cognitive biases but in reality, they do not have any books of mystics and there is additional information that I do not want to talk about. Cults are purely about many subjects about psychology having subjective claims and psychological cognitive biases. I find it silly to think that psychology is going to be more powerful than Heaven and Hell. The unknown is what Prophets and Apostles got involved in (they were unbelievably incredible). There are people who exchange cognitive biases and discard the goal of getting to heaven. The scripture has the effect of getting to heaven and the opposite is the damnation of Hell. Psychological cognitive biases can not affect the final judgment of God. Jesus Christ does not know the final judgment of God. There are mysteries that Jesus Christ does not know and there are people in modern times that use psychological cognitive biases to affect their view on the damnation of Hell and getting to heaven. How psychological cognitive biases are going to be more powerful than Jesus Christ in an affair that the messiah does not even know?

We were taught at school. Abnormal is just based on what is different to the majority. For example 1 percent of the population are kinky: but it's not considered a mental illness. It is part of 'abnormal psychology' as a subject to study. Where as Schizophrenia is considered abnormal because otherwise we might suffer with a mental illness. Otherwise why have a psychology department at university? Or pay psychologists? We could just have free KZbin.

You are right. Most people consider societal norms to be the benchmark for measuring abnormality. Whatever is different to the norm can be considered abnormal by many. But it's the spectrum that's important, like with most things. People who deviate slightly could just have a different perspective or a behaviour pattern. But people who willing or unwillingly deviate a lot will definitely need studying.
