Today we are taking a quick look at the basic operations of a flame safeguard. The flame safeguard is the primary boiler control that serves as the brains of the whole operation. This boiler control supervises the flame and prevents over-pressurizations. It is also a critical component for troubleshooting a boiler that won't start. Understanding the sequence of a burner's control helps to identify causes easier when troubleshooting a flame failure or boiler that won't start.

Don't forget safe start check (line voltage variations, brownouts etc). Also, the RUN/TEST switch at the top of the controls to lock the FSG in its current position. Good for troubleshooting.

What’s it mean when the FSG ALARM red light is on?

Hello! We have a blue box, Honeywell burner control, but it doesn't light up - as if it's not getting power. Can I replace the whole burner control? Is that an easy install? I have it already taken off - just two screws hold it in. Have you done a video on that? Thanks!
