Hello Doctor, Can excessive premature ventricular contractions (PVCs), say over 40k per day, cause cardiomyopathy? I have had this condition, which was partially corrected through ablation therapy. My PVCs have reduced to less than 12k per day. What type of cardiomyopathy is this condition referred as? Thank you, Doctor. I think you are a wonderful man.

Hi, I have restrictive cardiomyopathy. My squeezing is fine but my heart doesn't relax properly. now my left atrium is enlarged and I have a blood clot in there and I have fluid backup in my lungs now. I'm 20 and they think I've probably had this issue since birth as I've always been breathless during exercise etc but they thought I had asthma. Thankfully I had a charity heart scan and they saw my abnormal ECG. they don't know how I have restrictive cardiomyopathy though because the MRI shows no scarring in my heart. I'm currently having my DNA tested to see if there's a gene but they don't know if they'll find anything. Thanks for your video, its interesting to find out how the heart works.

they say there's a 1 in 4 chance that they'll find something, if not it'll just be idiopathic and we'll never know what caused it! it make no difference really but itd be nice if something useful came back

My mother died at 27 from hcm and her sister at 41. I have extreme panic disorder over this. I have seen a cardiologist regularly since I was 17. I am now 36. Clean echos, clean labs, (I do take simivstatin since i was 20 because despite a good diet cholesterol levels were not optimal, now great on statins). Clean stress test. Past clean holters but I am doing a new one in a cpl wks due to frequent palpitations and extreme anxiety lately. Ekgs been normal, and i had a clear calcium scan as well. Only test i have not had is an mri for the hcm detection. Even tho my echo was fine I still want it. Would genetic tests be beneficial or cause more anxiety for me? My teenage daughters 12 and 16 have been cleared by the cardiologist also. They see one every 3 yrs. Just super tired of having these panic attacks and thinking i am going to have a lethal arrhythmia. Looking for peace of mind.

My sister has Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, she died but survived and now has a Defibrillator fittted. I never had any problems with my heart until my kidney stones were removed by laser dusting. 4 weeks after the stone removal I had a "Heart attack" which has now been re-diagnosed as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. I hear you mention the connection here between your heart and your kidneys. My question is ... Did I get Kidney stones because I had HCM?
