Nice video! Now the question :) Say I have a case where I want to update only a part of the displayed list items. Would you consider it an anti pattern if I made the MovieViewModel extend ChangeNotifier?

We can't use changenotifier without provider ??

Not sure but I have always used it with provider

yes you can, since ChangeNotifier comes with Flutter SDK . Hence its independent of Provider which is an extra package for state management.
