Understanding CHILDREN OF THE SEA and The Depiction of Creation

There has been plenty of unanswered questions since the dawn of time. Nothing however, compared to the question of creation, more specifically the creation of life and Earth and the universe itself really. We all have different our different answers or beliefs on the matter, but recently I watched a film that takes a jab at projecting a rather well known theory to it's audience and makes you think just how much you know, and how much you're comfortable with knowing. Children of The Sea, a movie based on Daisuke Igarashi's manga of the same is what I'll be talking about and taking a deep dive into today. While exploring how it depicts the act of creation and much, much more.

i have seen thins movie 5+ times. i have been so focused on the hindu and buddhist themes in this film that i didn’t even really register the theme of life, focusing more on ideas of rebirth. i never understood the final scene and what place it had in the film until this video. thank you for sharing this! i’m also so glad you genuinely looked at this film past the trippy animation to truly understand it, i feel like i’ve seen too many people saying this movie is a “mind fuck” and that it isn’t about anything, and i’m glad to hear another person connecting with the beauty of this film’s message. 🌬️💕

The whale also represents a return to the unknown. As mammals, they once lived on land and returned to the sea. There's also the connection between whales to the story of Jonah in the Bible. Where Jonah is swallowed by the whale and talks to God. Much of the universe is hidden from us, but it follows the same pattern. All is One

Also in the manga, that whale is said to have the image of a goddess whose body constitutes the earth from Hindu mythology.

people HATE the ocean? that's crazy to me. I understand the fear, I do fear deep depths (like you know, when there's absolutely no life around but the empty dark blue abyss, when you can't see the bottom nor sides), but to me things like the ocean and nature hold meaning at the core of us, and even further, deeper beyond our understanding

Great video, wasn't aware of the influence of formal philosophy! One note: "observation" in quantum physics doesn't mean the same thing we mean colloquially. As in, it doesn't mean "perception" but means to take a measurement. Thus, does it exist if we haven't observed it? is a question about whether it exists without physical intra-action. Um... Karen Barad, who's in quantum field theory, says that reality is not composed of independent entities that then intra-act with each other, but entities come out of intra-actions. In other words, the most fundamental level of reality is relationships. Also! ...What was I going to say...? Oh, yeah, Barad, like me, comes from a panpsychic point of view. Panpsychism, if you're unfamiliar, is basically academic, philosophical animism: sentience is fundamental and ubiquitous in the universe. So... But still physical intra-action, entanglement, is necessary for experience. Because awareness without anything happening is basically non-existent; it has nothing to be aware OF. That having been said, I'm all for ideas about sentience "remembering" what's been or retaining molds. Basically my specific philosophy of mind (nondualism) leaves the door wide-open for all kinds of phenomena.

It´s 5 in the morning, havent slept for more than 24 hours, just finished the manga, and I need an explanation. I kind of get that, a big argument of the manga, is that "language limits us"; sometimes, we should only appreciate things, rather than trying to understand them, or at least, not trying to do so in our own terms (language, classification, terms)... BUT OH DID I LOSE MY SHIT WITH THE ENDING OF THIS MANGA, JESUS CHRIST. So, yes, a little bit of a different perspective might help my emotional crisis, thanks.
