Understanding Civil 3D Grading Tools & Their Processes

hi! doubt i will get a response, i appreciate the video. I was just wondering what the proper procedure was for implementing that into one merged surface? You have your existing grades, and now you have created your proposed grades on top of the existing, but lets say that your proposed grades as shown in the video are all good and you need to finalize one solid proposed grading plan? I'm specifically asking for the contours that are displayed running through your proposed grades. Do you need to merge the two surfaces together in a separate so that only one surface combined is shown?
