If you paint you need to know about colour and colour relationships. I'll explain everything in this video. I start by explaining how to use the 12 colour, colour wheel. I start from the basics and explain the 3 primary colours, red, yellow and blue, the 3 secondary colours green orange and purple. And the fact that all other colours are called tertiary colours.
I also discuss a variety of different colour schemes and how they can be applied to your painting. I explain the following colour schemes: complementary colour schemes, split complementary colour schemes, analogous colour schemes and near complementary colour schemes.
I show examples of great paintings, by artists such as Van Gogh, Claude Monet and Edvard Munch and explain the colour schemes they used and show how you might create the schemes yourself.
I also explained how to mix the colour schemes mentioned and particularly how to mix greys by mixing complementary colours together on your palette.
This art tutorial is aimed at beginners who are learning about colour and colour mixing. It is also aimed at people who wish to become an artist, but are unsure how use colour schemes to create different moods in their own painting.

Glad you like the video. You have to understand what colour is produced when you mix two colours together.Varying the amount of each colour will change the outcome. I would suggest taking one colour, and on a large sheet of paper, mix it with each of your other colours in turn. See what colour is produced. Do this with all your colours. You should end up with a grid of a vast amount of colours which you can refer to. Make sure you label each combination so you don't forget which colours you used. Cheers Paul

I don't use a script for my videos, I simply just commentate on the drawings. I'll have to look into other ways of producing a script and therefore captions. KZbin does have a subtitles button on videos(bottom right of screen) which should translate my voice into Arabic I believe. Cheers Paul
