Thank you so much Paige for being a gracious host and having me on the podcast. FYI - Oriki was not the correct term to use 😅 before my Yoruba people come for me. I'm really interested to hear people's opinions and reactions!

Only 8 minutes in and i'm mindblown. I absolutely love the education, and how confident it is making me feel about my hair and knowing we are not incapable of growing our hair long. With history, we just focused heaviliy on the style, which is definitely unique to our texture! Love it

Thoroughly enjoyed this conversation between you two lovely ladies. Learnt so much about where our mindset comes from. Didn’t realise how deep and far back it goes. Great conversation ladies and so eye-opening!

Loved the conversation about hair growth. So technically can a relaxer be used as a tool to grow the hair long since there is less bends in the hair? Obviously deep conditioning and needing to keep the roots relaxed? This is a completely hypothetical question. 😂

Thank you! I thoroughly enjoyed filming this with Paige. Wonderful host and wonderful interviewer! With regards to your question, on the surface, it sounds okay But there's one big flaw. Relaxed hair is already weakened through the relaxing process. So while there may be less resistance from combing, it doesn't take much to break the hair. In addition, there will always be a very weak point where new growth meets the relaxed hair. Now I'm nit saying Relaxed hair cannot retain length, it's just that you cannot slack at all when it come to gentleness, low friction, low manipulation styles protien treatments and conditioning.
