Understanding Dashboards in Grafana | Panels, Visualizations, Queries, and Transformations

I want to build a dashboard for disk usage of different directories in a file system over a period of time I.e when I receive an alert about 90% of total disc space being utilised I can just look at this dashboard to understand which folder has caused this spike I have never used grafana and do not know where to start. I can write a shell script to for dumping the folder level disk space usage data into a CSV file to start with. But what next ?

Is there a way to construct a fixed 5x10 table (dataset) to be used as inputs to a panel, where each cell value in the table (dataset) is comprised of specific queries?

When you are looking at your car's dash, that is the engine temp, not the cabin temp. There are cabin temp controls and gauges, but they will not be beside the engine RPM indicator. It's still a good example for what you are talking about. I just imagine someone seeing this and saying, "oh, that's what that is".
