I am a BS Computer Science. I personally have interest in cyber security. In university, I noticed that most of the student went towards programming(web development preferably), database, data science and AI. The teachers encouraged them to stick to programming. In fact, doing programming was the merit of talent among teachers and students. I noticed that not a single teacher had interest or degree in cyber security. Data science and AI are very demanding fields in our universities these days. But most of the data science teachers and researchers don't know that handling and processing data without considering security can cause disaster.

Good to hear a Pakistani talking about cyber matters, I was in Pakistan multiple times to have meetings around CyberSec. Specifically protecting SCADA and CNI. At times they just can’t appreciate how poor there security is and what the potential consequences are.

someone was trying to hack my credit card and I called Alflah bank but they said you are yourself responsible for any misuse of credit card. then I block my card to save myself... Bank need to provide more security. I was very disappointed by the Bank Alfalah

Some major universities like FAST have started 4 years BS cyber security program. I think it is useless. At BS level, students should be taught basics of computer science (like programming, database, networking, OS etc.) because these are the basics of cyber security too. For example, teaching network security without teaching networking will not be fruitful. Moreover, in job market BS cyber security will not get an edge over BS Computer Science. Because, psychologically, one may think that is BS Cyber security same as BS Computer Science? Most of IT jobs( particularly government) explicitly mention BS CS/IT/SE or CE in there ad. How will a BS cyber security student fit there? POINT TO PONDER
