2 yrs later, after you posted this video, I find it on you tube or, I should say it shows up. You are the first person I've seen doing teaching on drawing portraits that has took the time to talk about how to get facial proportions right, or very close, for an accurate drawing! Thank you! I've saved your video for future reference. I don't do much drawing since it's just a pasttime for me and a source of unwinding. Also, I don't recall any books discussing what you've covered ( I'm pretty much self taught thru art teaching books ). By the way, you happen to be a very beautiful young lady. Thank you again for the video. This old man has learned something no one else has brought up. But I did know about using pencil for measuring...just never put the full ' picture ' together.

I just started drawing, and very soon I became "pretty good", as some of my friends saw examples; but for love of God I couldn't draw faces, portraits, (nose ,eyes ears ,lips just wasn't able to get it right); I wanted to figure out and do it without help, watching videos or asking anyone/which ended with full bucket of unsuccessful projects. I even became mad; asking my self how can I draw everything else except portraits of faces, until I finally decided to check it out and your clip came first. I CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH . I find your pencil marks are so faint that I have to move my laptop screen back and forth so many times after all it's a TEMPLATE FOR FUTURE REFERANCE when you are going to paint a portrait PLEASE TAKE NOTE Also the eyes from one side of the face to the other and devide by five for a face on portrait.
