Wow! You falconers are very serious people. Knowlegable, passionate, and, dare I say, full of dry humour ( British spelling). Yours is not the first site I've visited on the subject, but I've found it riveting. If there is one upside to this Covid thing, it's that it has made me use KZbin a lot more. In respect of my favorite types of birds, I've renamed it the "Corvid Virus." But, now that I'm old enough to think about such things, I would actually like to come back as a seagull. Also, your dogs look great.

Excellent video, thanks for posting this. The only differences of the point of view in this vid I have are the parts about the abilities and potential of the Kestrel as a hunting companion and capable game hawk. Recently In America, Kestrels have been utilized for Falconry with suprising results and are now flown as a legitimate Falconry Bird around the World. Matthew Mullinex wrote an excellent book on hunting with the smallest of the Falcons the American Kestrel! "Micro Falconry" is a relatively recent phenomenon in Falconry and is catching on. The other point is on feeding "Beef"! I thought that beef was a no, no as it throws the birds metabolism off and could make the bird sick! Cattle Beef is not Raptors natural diet in the wild. I could be wrong, but maybe their just using beef as a temporary training substitute until the Bird is catching it's own prey. That being said, it's still a very informative, entertaining and useful video for explaining the Awesome Sport and Art of Falconry! Thanks again for posting! Cheers!👍👋

well, I am sure you are good with the birds, but you said something that I have to correct....You said Sakers are too small to take a hare....but I have seen a little gyr peregrine mix take jackrabbits..(USA) no problem, and he was a small male, but hit the jacks so hard, they died instantly upon contact.....a raking stoop with a big smack which breaks their neck...Sakers actually take down take little antelopes in Saudi Arabia... ...

beeman4you 001 Thank you for your comment! There is no an error in the video. You see the most common Saker. Prairie falcons have black axillars and underwing coverts unlike Saker falcons. Also, Prairie falcons have unusually big eyes and longish wings and tail. Really, these falcons (Saker and Prairie) are quite difficult to distinguish at first sight. what you call a buzzard we call a hawk. a buzzard is what we call a vulture

patrick jaroch funnily enough it's because the early European explorers got confused. North American buzzards are much more agressive than European ones so were mis labelled as true hawks and the regional vulture was mistaken for a buzzard. It stuck. You also get true hawks in North America and a common nickname for kestrels is sparrowhawk, despite actual sparrowhawks being present. It's pretty confused to say the least!

As amazing as this video is nobody tail bells a Falcon these days you’re just asking for trouble same with a Goss Hawk or Harris hawk you will end up with ripped out deck tail feathers from a collision with the lure line, Creance, tree branch of fence etc Also what JPJ claims about Peregrines is completely untrue Tiercel Peregrines being the Falcon of Choice for a lot of longwingers these days they are perfect over water holding ducks are perfect at Partridge hawking in large open fields and the larger Tiercels can be flown at Pheasant although a lot wisely avoid cock Pheasant.
