@@pogi378 evidently kulang ang kaalaman nia ,kasi dito sa usa yong mga proestant historians,bible scholars,mga pastors,theologians na dating mga anti catholic ang convert na sa catholicism .isang seminary nga ng mga born again sa south carolina ,maraming nagwalkout na mga seminarians at nagconvert sa catholicism . last year at easter more than 40k mga born again christians mostly ang naconvert sa catholicism .pero noong 2023 mas marami almost 100k ,kabilang ang mga faculty members ,students ng harvard at yale universities .last month ,two different vloggers ang may title " why everybody wants to become Catholic?" karamihan ang mga nagcoconvert ay mga young adults at highly educated .kahit sa pinas may mga pastor na rin na nagsibalik sa catholic church .last month nga isang pastor ng more than 2 decades sa born again,bumalik sa CC .Tapos isang Senior Pastor se Cebu nagconvert rin sa CC.

In God's time ,babalik sia . i remember one couple ,who left the catholic church to become protestant. tapos yong mga imahen ng mga santo nilagay nila sa sako at nilibing . tapos nagkamalas malas buhay nila ,negosyo bumagsak at nagkasakit sila .nang mamamatay na sa hospital and lalaki ,nagpatawag sia ng PARI ,di PASTOR nia ,para bigyan sia ng final rite . Marami ang ganitong kaso ,di lang nababalita .

Walang nakakita sa totoong number five, pero may symbol tayo to represent number 5. Same sa atin. May rebulto tayo para hindi natin makalimutan ang mga Santo. Hindi naman lahat ng mga banal na tao nasa bibliya, kaya ginawan natin sila ng imahe at rebulto para makarating sa mga pangkaraniwang tao ang mensahe ng kaligtasan. Like the Japanese Buddhist,,Nepalese Hindu religious processions and Perahera of Sri Lanka. Filipino culture is continiously evolving. Christ, Mary, Bible ,Church ,Jehova..these ideas came when ancient Filipinos ( who have thier own relgious beliefs like Bathala, diwatas,anitos, babaylan) met the people of Spain only in year 1521. If you visit Spain today, their religious celebrations are so identical with the Philippines. So, in summary, there is no correct or wrong. The wrong is the one who divides the Filipinos and telling them they are right and the others are wrong or, we are better than you and your belief is inferior. Whatever your religious beliefs are, anthropological speaking, you are a product of evolving human experience.

@@darylmichael2255 If what you say is true about Catholics worshipping statues, and wooden crucifixes, (which is wrong and fallacious by the way) then why did the Israelites (during the time when they conquered Jericho) bring the Ark of the Covenant (the tablets of the law of Moses, Aaron's rod and the golden pot that contained the Manna- Bread from heaven) with them? If Aaron's rod was just a piece of wood, then why was it endowed with miraculous power during the Plague of Egypt? And later his rod miraculously sprouted blossoms and almonds. Then would you call the Israelites idolatrous? They (Joshua in particular) certainly genuflected-bowed down before the Ark.

@ The Ark of the Covenant did not contain God. The word say (paraphrasing) no structure can contain God when David (actually his son, Solomon) attempted to build a temple for God to dwell. Also, let’s not forget the Ark was never used to dispense blessings or healings upon those touch it. As a matter of fact, if a layperson touched it, they would die. It's not hasty generalization naman. Because Sto Nino culture really is evident in many other parts of the country; santos in homes and stores in Manila and Batangas would attest to this. Can we trace the tradition to Cebu? Yes, historians have pointed to the first Sto Nino from Magellan. However, I do acknowledge that the devotion to Sto Nino in Cebu may be stronger due to proximity to places of origin and celebration. I guess gusto ko na lang din idagdag na we should find common ground as Filipinos. At this point, marami dyan ay shared experience na, ilang dekada at siglo na rin naman na. Jusq, magtratribalism pa ba tayo? (Tribalism is hyperbole here btw. Dont come at me haha.) Also mahal na mahal ko si Sto. Nino. Wag niyo siya ilayo porke di ako Cebuano. :(

@@rielemi5862 I'm a little iffy about that. It feel like it's a bit of hasty generalization to refer to a localized phenomenon as "Filipino" when it's in Metro Manila. Consequently, tagalogs refer to localized events outside of the Capital as "regional" i.e., events in the VizMin areas. Of course, I speak as a Cebuano with my own biases, but I've always felt that this "Filipino Identity" that's largely based on the identity of Metro Manila is constantly being forced on us non-tagalogs; from language to clothing to cultural practices.
