This is so disgusting n revolting, that nothing is being done about bringing the perpetrators to book. Any yet we hear on the other hand that America is the coolest n safest place to emigrate to. HOGWASH! AMERICA belongs to the indigenous races n yet in this time n age they are still being haunted out of their ancestral homes n territories. God have mercy upon the American Indians, for I find them to b the most humane, intelligent, compassionate race I ever came across where plant life n animal lives r concerned. They know how to respect n take care of MOTHER EARTH. GOD BLESS AMERICAN INDIANS wherever they are.

Thank you for making this very informative video. I’m a white Canadian settler. I never understood what was causing so many indigenous women, girls, & 2 spirit individuals to go missing or be murdered. I figured it was something systemic driving this to happen. Today is #REDress day, so I searched for more information about it on KZbin and found your video. This really helped me to understand the issue a little better. I’m going to write a letter to my Member of Parliament right now about this. This is both heartbreaking and infuriating.

This video we made took 5 months to make, but our MMIW video is just the beginning of our efforts towards this issue. In the campaign you can send in your own concerns or efforts to be highlighted. If you like to send in more information about this issue we can create a blog about it and send it out to everyone who has signed up for the campaign. I knew that there were a lot of missing indigenous women, but I never understood why. This is completely ludicrous! Why in the world has this not been corrected? And why was it not fully corrected in 2010? At absolute minimum the allowable punishment needs to be the same, and there needs to be some court somewhere (indigenous or federal) that takes care of these cases *at least* at a rate proportionate to other cases. Don't give creepers an incentive to target one particular group of women! This is both baffling and enraging, but I don't know the system well enough to know exactly where the breakdown is happening to know what specifically needs fixed.

Aren't most of the indigenous women murdered by their close family members and friends or acquaintances like most women are? Also why is nobody talking about the lost and murdered indigenous men and boys? And why doesn't anybody acknowledge that alcohol, drugs, violence and unemployment in those communities are part of the problem?

No law encourages violence against anyone. The greatest flaw is that local law enforcement have no power on reservations. Reservations want outside help when they want it but want to turn away the outside LE when it doesn't help them. This needs to be stopped if they want outside help then give up segregating themselves and be part of the community.
@W02-p5f2 жыл бұрын
These laws in US and Canada towards Indigenous Communities are definitely not put In place for protect them. Did you not watch the video? It literally broke down the jurisdiction issues. These 2 governments are literally committing genocide on the Native Americans.
@drakependragon84392 жыл бұрын
@@W02-p5f these separation of allowing law enforcement to not do anything on a res, you are right doesn't actually protect them but they claim it does. Nobody is committing genocide on Indians that is just liberal BS blowing reality out of proportion. The greatest danger to the Indians is their own alcoholism and wanting to be separate from the community. They don't want law enforcement to be able to enforce laws on the res, but then cry when something bad happens and nobody was able to stop it.

the greatest flaw is the limitations of prosecution that tribes have in their own soveriegn jurisdictions.
@drakependragon84392 жыл бұрын
@@josephmeeks5657 Except they can prosecute any tribe member for any crime committed and have any non-tribe member tried by the judicial system. So there is no limitation except that you can't have anyone prosecuted for something that isn't a real crime.
