after seeing them live i sent joe a message about my soberity and another problem i was having, the next day i woke up to one of the nicest messages ive ever received. the message ended with "If you relapse or take two steps back, breathe and enjoy the fact you can still move forward with love. Always love" ill never forget this, I said thank you so much and he replied "Thank you"

I found them supporting Dead Kennedys in the time between Meat and Brutalism. I went to a bunch of their shows, got to know the guys, Joe especially. Joe is one of the kindest, loveliest guys you'll ever meet, as are the rest of the band. They're incredible, in the studio and live, and probably one of the most important bands of the last twenty years.

I have always loved this line. "If someone talked to you the way you talk to you, I'd pull their teeth through, love yourself," I repeat to myself when I lose that love, I even considered getting it as a tattoo, or at least a section of it. To me, idles Is absolute Acceptance, tolerance, and love. Love all people, but hate bigotry and oppressive violence. Be that against women, queer people, people of color, or against our mothers. This is also why I often find pits poetic. I love you, you love me, and we are going to kick, push, and hit each other to express it, and as soon as you fall, I will let out my hand for you to get right back to that loving violence.

So well summarised! This is IDLES to a tee ❤️ p.s. I vote yes on tattoo!

Been listening to them since 2020 and I swear, the only other band that has ever spoken to me so closely and deeply might be Nirvana. With IDLES I feel not only that I am a part of a community, and that I must spread love and joy for the people I love, but also that I can do something to make things a bit better. I love them.

I’m not a fan of punk or post-punk,but Idles has me hooked. A friend said they saw them live and it blew them away, and they’d never heard of them. So I opened my damned mind and gave a listen. Mind opened.

63YO IDLES stan here. They played to their largest North American audience to date last night here, in the best hometown in America, Austin, Texas. The resonance from that 2-hour set, in crushing heat and humidity, sent me down a glorious IDLES research bunny trail today.

IDLES changed my life tbh, I discovered them after overhearing a conversation about them in a barber’s in 2019; I then watched their Glasto set from that year and the emotion of it and their whole ethos inspired me to the point I had the confidence to find myself and am now in a beautiful and committed same-sex relationship and would not change it for the world

Greetings from Belarus! Which is kinda far from Bristol;) I was lucky to get to know IDLES through KZbin recommendations. Man, that was mindblowing! I felt emotionally that there must be some personal story behind their records. Now I know a bit more about the band's background, and there are some topics I can relate to. Which definitely results in the IDLES' songs hitting me even harder. Great band and very informative video. Cheers!

Two summers ago my brother said “ have you seen IDLES on Tiny Desk Concert?” and then i watched. instantly hooked. all 3 of those songs are brilliant but when the chorus of PERM starts the “ concrete to leather “ chant….. i was blown away.

these guys are absolutely fascinating. and they absolutely trigger in me the emotions of my the first band i adored in my teen age years, early 90's, the red hot chili peppers: the energy, the attitude, the provocation, the instrumental virtuosity with the untraditional/unique power of the lead singer. this is was a nice introduction, thks.

And now fortunately, loving them. I'm gonna watch them live for the first time in October, here in Mexico.
