My contribution to this episode, whilst it is not the most important contribution, is related to Hindu friend of mine. I know when I met her at first she worked in a restaurant here in Ireland. I remember her saying that working in a restaurant was very difficult for her from a spiritual level due to the amount of waste that she perceived. As a devout Hindu she had a reverence for food and an appreciation of where it came from. To see customers and staff treat it as a meaningless commodity used to vex her. I revert back to the earlier part of Pope Francis' encyclical where it addresses everyone! Thus this encyclical will speak to the Hindus too and I am reminded of this when I see in (50) a reference to how 'whenever food is thrown out it is as if it were stolen from the table of the poor.' I am enjoying watching this series, as I've said before. I apologise for my feeling the need to comment on each section and I thank you for the series.

Dear Br. Daniel, a sincere 'thank you' for guiding me through this wonderful encyclical. I tried it on my own, but your insights bring me much further. Greetings from Belgium and God bless!

Thank you so nuch Fr. Horan for a very substantial explanation of Pope Francis' encyclical on the signs of times. I'm more inspired to continue what we're doing along with Fr. Jojo and our farmers. I realized our farm practices which starts with waste management are ideal concrete actions to respond to the signs of times. Profit should not be the center of our journey but just stay sustainable inorder to train others and help the poor, our mission, our way to evangelize others.

I appreciate this series greatly, Fr Horan. In the years since you made it, we have seen disastrous weather causing heat domes to become environmental catastrophes. In 2021 a heat dome caused Sicily and British Columbia to reach 120º F for the first time. The 2023 heat domes are more common and even hotter. We urgently need to begin a serious exploration on how to rehydrate the inhabited continents by developing continental water management.

This is a message that we all need to listen to practically and act. I like the fact that we are interconnected. What affects one there affects you me here. It also important to note that extinction of some of the species is a shame. I will be next on the line if I don't ask why others are disappearing.

Beautiful message from Holy Father’s encyclical. Thank you Fr Horan. If only we ‘internalize gospel values’, we’d use even digital media for positive change.
