Men aren't "oppressed" in the name of alimony. Oppression can not happen on the lower ends of power structure. Oppression is normalised crime against certain group of people. Certain cases of alimony can be exploitative but it's not oppression. What is the use of reading so much philosophy if you can't understand things beyond books. I think alimony should be looked at case by case basis. What we do here is we take one extreme example of some case and start calling men to be oppressed. It can't be oppression if for some exploitative practice you can raise voice so easily and accuse other people "oh I see feminist side of yours" as if it's a bad thing. This is not oppression. Most women structurally don't even think about doing job forget trying and not getting. Many women I know in personal space leaving all carrier aspirations behind for marriage. Today working women are not marriage material (mostly). And then you don't want to give them alimony ? A law is made at the population level. There can be certain problems with it. It can't be a panacea to solve all the problems with one law perfectly
