This is really well done. I just had one of these that was misdiagnosed a few times, and it was extremely painful. Had it drained once with a needle that did not remove it all, and it ended up rupturing by itself. (Was quite gross)

Just had one drained last night. My symptoms were classic. If I had known, I would've gone to the ER right away. Was misdiagnosed at urgent care 2 nights ago and wound up going to the ER the following morning after the abscess drastically increased in size overnight. Yuck. The referred ear pain really threw me off. I thought I had an ear infection! Anyway, I feel much better. Still sore and slightly swollen. And will likely be cranky from the steroids over the next few days, but I already feel myself recovering. Thank you for this video! It will help me explain things to people without having to talk while I recover.❤

Literally my exact situation. Misdiagnosed 2 days ago and I just got back from the ER 10 minutes ago. The cut it, drained it, and gave me antibiotics. I am so thankful I went. I had the ear issue too and my lymph node on my neck was very swollen.

@@yagamigoesberserk I'm actually a professional musician. I was singing at work the afternoon before I went to urgent care. My voice got pretty messed up. But My voice was pretty much back to normal two or three days after they drained the thing. And tonight I'll be singing at my New Year's gig!

I just had this today, man, I can’t imagine how it would feel without local anaesthetic. I had local anaesthetic, needle aspiration, scalpel incisions and then had the incisions stretched. It was… kinda horrifying, but you must trust your healthcare provider. It needs to be drained. The aftermath of the pain is pretty bad, but not as bad as having severe tonsillitis as well as a quinsy. The overall procedure took maybe 12 minutes.

Just had one drained the pain was unlike anything I’ve experienced. I read somewhere that there is a 10 percent mortality rate from complications of the infection spreading and it’s causing my neuroticism to flare up. Love the way my brain works.

I had this a while ago. I went to the doctors and seen a nurse. She said it wasn’t even tonsillitis and made me feel really bad for wasting their time. A week later I felt so bad and I woke up one morning and my jaw had locked almost completely shut. I went back to the doctors to see an actual doctor and she sent me straight to hospital to have it drained, which was really difficult due to my mouth not opening more than perhaps half a cm.

I’ve had a swollen tonsil for going in five years now I have no problem breathing eating or swallowing. Went for a wisdom tooth pull and was referred to a nose ear and throat dr. Is it possible to have Quincy for 5 years? Or do I have something more serious going on?

My first Was last year 2023 I didn't go to the hospital for any treatment and endured the torture of pain and suddenly it exploded. And yesterday june 11,2024 it came back and I'm panicking for lack of capability to get myself some treatment Its like death are near me to claim my life any moment I wish to receive help. This is my second time experiencing it without treatment I know it's curable but I can't even afford for the Medicine and Bills for the treatment I wish I could removed my tonsil This time I'm having thoughts to end my suffering.

My 17 yr old just had emergency surgery because of a "Quinsy" on her left tonsil. The pain was severe. She exhibited all the symptoms listed above. She couldn't talk eat swallow or open her mouth. She also had ear pain. All excruciating! We were in the hospital 3 days! Now she has to go back to have her tonsils and adenoids removed!

im going through this right now and in all honesty it makes me wanna die. the pain is so bad, nothing really stops it, I cant eat, I cant talk, I cant sleep because the pain is much worse when I go to bed. It was my birthday today and all I did was cry, the pain is so bad. my doctors want to see if it will go with antibiotics before sending me to hospital. it's so daft but i already suffer with dark thoughts, so something like this making everything seem miserable is enough to make me end it.. i constantly keep reminding myself that its curable and doing something like that is too extreme but honestly the pain is so bad.. i feel like ive been kicked in the face repeatedly.
