I particularly appreciated your insights on your brother Brian and his brilliant mind. It reminds me of the talk "The Song They Could Not Sing" as Elder Quentin L. Cook describes people who seemingly pass too soon, leaving without performing the songs they could not sing. In the same talk a poem: "Full many a flower is born to blush unseen, And waste its sweetness on the desert air." -Thomas Gray I have shared this podcast with the local bereavement support group that serves parents who have lost children. My own story is that of pregnancy losses, infant loss, and loss of a father-in-law all within four years of each other. We have, since our losses, been blessed with our rainbow baby McKenzie Joy Breinholt. As you pointed out it is a necessary part of life to help us grow in a greater capacity to find joy, particularly to know how to help others through their trials. I believe this episode will do just that for many working through grief. Thank you for your inspired words and music! Both my wife and I have been listening to A Grief Observed throughout the week and it speaks to me and calms my heart.

Christian singer/guitarist Phil Keaggy composed a song by the same title of the C.S. Lewis poem you read-a beautiful accompaniment to the words of that poem.

I was introduced to your music through Pandora. I would hear music playing through the loop of piano artists and this particular song was playing I ran to my phone to find out who the artist was. I wrote your name down so I could purchase your music. I have purchased many of your CD’s for friends and family as well. When I read about your history of congenital heart issues. It touched me so deeply, because my daughter was born with three congenital heart defects. The thought that went through my mind was “no wonder I am drawn to this man’s music”. It is so soothing, so comforting. A rich blessing. I thank God for giving you life and for the gift He gave you. Thank you for using your gift. God continue to bless you!
