Understanding the Mandelbrot set

How come in all of your examples, you substitute “c” as the same value as “x”?

When c is the point we look at, to prove if it's in the Mandelbrot set or not and z is 0 at the beginning, the first iteration is f(0) = 0² + c -> the result is c and then the second iteration, after we put the result from the last one (c) into the new one, it looks like this: f(c) = c² + c where every number is the same That's why he also says that "c is the first value we defined to x"

Hi, great video, thank you :) But i got confused on f(-1) = -1^2 - 1 = -2 in your video. I think that (-1)^2 = 1, but not -1, am I wrong? thank you for clarifying :)

As a Brit of 64 years, brought up in southern England (mid Hertfordshire) I found this very hard to listen to, with some very strange pronunciations. It was also very hurried, as if the video had been sped up without changing the pitch. Sorry.

@@GodmanchesterGoblin I grew up in a different country than England and thus my accent has faded a lot, have got it back now but I was struggling back then. It was not sped up, I just spoke very fast and was very young at the time so had a higher pitch!
