Was a turbulence of nature on romaticist paintings a metaphore for revolutions that were occuring at the time of the movement? Sorry for bad english.

It was partly a reaction to the Industrial Revolution, the aristocratic social and political norms of the Age of Enlightenment, and the scientific rationalization of nature-all components of modernity. This was the end of slavery, laws were being solidified as the world was becoming "smaller" and more connected. Ideas spread quickly. The Romanticists painted a world free of artificial "rules/laws" and sometimes created with the idea of the "law of nature." All movements are a reaction to their past and a look into their future.
