im an electrician. this is definitely good information. the only thing i would like to add is that there are times where that 20 amp circuit has other things on it. sometimes there is a 20 amp receptacle on the wall, but there are other things on that same circuit. for example, a fridge or freezer could be on that same circuit. now the fridge may not pull a lot of power, but what it could do is send unwanted hum into your speakers. depending on the type of event, it may not matter much, but it could. also, use your judgement. if the venue seems a little sketchy, look at the switches and receptacles. if the screws are vertical, you can relax, because a professional most likely touched it, if theyre just tight, and the screws arent in any particular direction, be a little cautious, because a professional definitely didnt touch it, or someone else came in behind the professional. it doesnt necessarily mean its wrong, but if the venue is penny pinching cheap, i would just keep an eye on it, as you cant tell who touched it and why. the painter couldve removed the covers to paint the room, or someone replaced it. ideally with the same type of receptacle, but theres nothing stopping anyone from putting a 20 amp receptacle on a 15 amp circuit except for ink in a book. either way, dont put exactly 20 amps on a 20 amp circuit, especially if your equipment is going to be running at peak power for more than a few hours, because circuit breakers trip on overload and heat.

We went to battery powered lights to help with this. Especially at some of these older venues that are coverted from churches and such. Many times we find that an entire wall of outlets are ran on one circuit. ( thank god we have a circut buddy in our gear)

Can you give a link to the electrical components you where talking about in the Video! Awesome video I'm really serious about my power consumption when it comes to my equipment due to warranty factors also. Thank You so much for being a Dj for Djs.
