It's so funny because I first learned about parentification as a form of abuse that some children experience when they have little to no supervision or support from their caregivers and are required to take on care roles inappropriate for their age. This has been an eye opening episode. Thank you.

Awareness and acknowledgement of the value of the labour being exchanged is so important to being able to keep the energy matched. We start with awareness is something i live by for starting the problem solving process.

Thanks so much! That was a great conversation, I was a bit hesitant to watch, as I feel guilty in some parts. I have a little side note to add, in regards to parent/children relationship you speak of parentification as well, but you are speaking of the normal parenting role, that is a bit misleading as parentification can also happen with children and parents, and it's often traumatizing. And, maybe also a topic that's maybe relevant - if ADHD people are maybe sometimes in bad circumstances parentifing their children.

Wait, I thought that equity meant everyone got the same or "equal" treatment, and fair meant everyone got what they needed. But in this video, y'all teach it flipped from that.... have I been teaching my kids wrong all this time?? 😂 Please help! ❤

I have adhd and maladaptive daydreaming both..and whenever i solve questions i start imagining fake sceniories and it is recommended to use white noise.. I used my focus get improve but I'm preparing for a competitive exam (JEE)and in examine hall i have to solve paper without any white noise i have fear that if my focus get dependent on that white noise i mean that will become my habit i will not be able to focus without noise..should i use white noise or not ..(sorry for bad english) . Plz reply me.

That's really difficult for us to answer. Sure it's possible that you'd become used to using white noise and find it difficult to focus without it but white noise is not considered harmful so the habit itself would be relatively benign and not something most would be concerned about being dependent upon. It's really up to you to determine how concerned you are about becoming dependent on using white noise or any other focus aid.
