My thoughts pretty much. That shit blew me away as a kid, I remember being so frightened at the same time... even the theme songs couldn't have been more perfect. It really was the absolute peak of their creativity in terms of everything writing, acting, talent, theatrics. Too bad they have shit writers now. Rock and metal music was such a big part of their image, I think that's what made all the difference between then and now. If you watch this period, it was actually a time were he did the least action in the ring, because he had lots of injuries that built up. His match quality was quite poor, but because he made the character so scary it didn't actually matter. Mark Callaway was born for this role. From the Master of Pain to the Ministry of Darkness to the American Badass to Big Evil or simply The Phenom Nobody else in the history of wrestling could have pulled off this gimmick. Even the M.O.P. , "The Punisher" Dice Morgan and "Mean Mark Callous" seem like early incarnations of the American Badass. The way he played the Deadman character, how it transitioned to the Ministry and then to the Badass, and how easily he brought back the Deadman, but new and improved was simply amazing. All his gimmicks and personas are forms of The Undertaker and he made it believable.
