Thanks for showing this. I always felt so bad about him losing all his limbs. This was one of my favorite boss fights, and Mettaton is awesome. It didn't feel right doing a true pacifist run while utterly destroying his body, the one thing he wanted above all else. After watching this, I tried looking for alternate ways to get the ratings up (because I'm weird and experiment with video games despite the fact that this was probably done by millions). On average, Boast can give a couple hundred ratings, but posing at 1 HP gives 600 (2-3 giving 500) so I keep my HP at 1-3. The fight usually looked like this: 1. Change armor, get hit as much as possible. 2. Throw stick, get hit until close to or at 1 HP. 3. POSE POSE POSE POSE GAH. 4. After the Essay, eat the Face Steak, and get hit as much as possible for the next attack (few hundred in violence points). 5. POSE POSE POSE POSE GAH. You win. TL;DR I have no life and am proud of it.

4:29 I can actually answer your question where Sans comes from: Sans is believed to be Gaster's son with his little brother, Papyrus (Gaster is the scientist who came before Alphys and owned the True Lab). Sans was found as a non-living skeleton by Gaster, than was carried back to the lab to be brought to life. There is a conspiracy theory that Sans and Papyrus were biological brothers in the upper world, and when they died, they were reunited by Gaster. Sans was actually not supposed to have powers, an error occured during his resurrection, and Gaster accidentally transferred some of his powers. It's unknown who's their biological mother is, but I hoped this explanation helped.

I actually obtained this condition naturally, on my one hp run. I noticed that posing with 1 hp grants 600 ratings, the highest reliable score. That, plus the stick at the beginning, was enough by itself to achieve this.

But during this fight, when he answered the call, I actually teared up a little when I realised the caller was Napstablook. Their backstory with Metta is so sad!!
