Horrortale is an Undertale Alternate Universe, which describes the events happening after one of neutral endings. The plot takes place after the Exiled Queen ending, where Toriel retakes the throne, but Undyne exiled her back to the ruins and ascended the throne herself, driven by the growing desire to destroy humanity. Her rule was exceptionally cruel, and after some time the Underground has come to its downfall. Total luck of food has made monsters eat human falling from the surface, and because of it almost all of them have gone mad. Now they’re extremely desperate after the many failed attempts to reach the Surface.
The main hero is 9-12 years old Aliza. She is a weak and shy girl, so she can’t fight the monsters, but she can be cruel. The girl fell in the Underground long time after the neutral run. Has nothing to do with the main hero of Undertale. Aliza’s soul is Perseverance\Fear.

@Shelincy Williams Actually, Toriel made butterscotch-cinnamon pie. It wasn't JUST cinnamon. And even then butterscotch is still edible just fine. If there was too much butterscotch the most that would happen is that Aliza would have gotten a tummy ache. But there is no evidence to point to it being the butterscotch. You may be thinking of buttercup flowers, which *are* actually poisonous.

Headcanon: Aliza's soul would've been patience if she wasn't so fearful. Both involve stagnation and waiting to a degree, and the colors seem very similar, moreso than her soul and perseverance.

It started with Determination, then Patience, Bravery, Integrity, Perseverance, Kindness, Justice, then back to Determination with Frisk. So if we follow that logic next in the cycle would be Patience. But again this all an "if it wasn't fear" situation.

That's because Frisk was never meant to have a personality. Frisk is a reflection of you. If Frisk had a reaction to everything that happened, it would imply that it's how you, the player, is meant to feel. That's why he has the blank -_- expression for the whole game. How you feel is how he feels. If you feel good about killing Toriel, Frisk feels good about murdering Toriel. If you feel bad about killing Toriel, Frisk feels bad too. In other words, His personality is your personality.

I feel this ended too abruptly, but I can still understand the ending: Toriel, already having lost sanity, has grown a deep hatred for all monsters and kills them all on sight, and because of that, she is alone. It's likely that all the children who fell before Aliza caught on to this and left (only to die by the hands of monsters under Undyne's rule). She can't bear to see yet another human child leave her, so she poisons Aliza, making her fall ill and rely on her care, so that she can never leave. It's a rather twisted and depressing story. Although, I couldn't really piece together the "secret" rooms, especially the one with Napstablook's smashed headphones and the soggy posters of Mettaton. I understand that the one room with Azriel's photo is probably a shrine for him. Definitely curious about the locked room... ...and wondering why the key was never used for anything.

I just started to watch the walkthrough, and I can already see a part where Toriel is trying to sort of manipulate you. (17:41). Here, she says "Together we can do anything!" It's lovely to see that Toriel is still the loving Toriel that we know and love from the original game, but that line is already giving me red flags. Edit: At 27:11, you can see that everything Toriel had in the original game is hidden away. When you watch more, at 28:43, you can see a photo album that's also hidden, along with a music box. When they open the photo album, you can see a photo of Toriel, Asgore, Asriel, and Chara. I'm not sure if the reason why Toriel hid everything was due to Frisk's betrayal, or Toriel wanted to forget the memories. At 38:59, you, the character, start to cough, causing you to get very sick. As other people stated in the comments, Toriel poisoned you, causing you to rely on her in order for you to regain your strength, meaning that Toriel wants to make you stay.

To anyone curious as to why it was cancelled, the creators are Russian. Right now Russia is in a bad state due to the war against Ukraine (remember that Putin is a jerk and most Russians don’t support the war).
