Chara and frisk aren't really genderless its up to the fans on how they interprete them but they are mostly protayed as females for some certain reasons

I don't know about the pronouns but the gender part is incorrect. Both chara and frisk don't really have a gender because toby left it up to the player to decide what their gender is.

It's true that people thought frisk and chara were female because of appearance having eyelashes and skirt so this is why they made frisk and chara adult sexualized female but I'm not one of those people who think they are terrible and I'm guessing you would say I'm terrible but I don't care about it I thought chara and frisk were worth simping for so I searched up r34 lol + lmao

To answer the question of which gender is chara, by evidences like how she talks, looks and her name, we can tell she is a girl, or at least genderless that chose to be a girl. Seems like nmd embraced that idea very well, I do believe chara is a girl, she looks like one afterall
