So, not so Fun Fact, Papyrus was actually fine with dying so long as Bete did too. The SOUL you saw cracking was actually Gaster's soul from overexerting himself. _Papyrus told Gaster to stop not because of the pain _*_he_*_ felt, but because he couldn't bare the thought of losing both Sans _*_& Gaster._*

Is Gaster's rage from the fact his experiment just died or is it because he actually cared for Sans? Because it seems that Gaster thinks of Sans as an experiment with all the flashbacks of Gaster experimenting on Sans. So it would make sense that the rage is from his experiment dying.

He wanted to save Sans by whatever means necessary, & as he was already dying there wasn't much left to lose by doing this. Maybe Sans actually COULD'VE survived for real with that DETERMINATION... But using everything he had like that to stop Beté? He not only lost his son once, but now AGAIN. *_RIGHT. IN. FRONT. OF. HIM._* That rage wasn't from the experiment failing, this was never about a "hypothesis" of DT, it was about saving his son. And *_ANY_* chance Sans had at surviving was robbed of him. *_By IT._*

Also as the fandom calls it "Fallen down" where a monster is in a state off paralysis and in a temporary coma, if used tm magic they will inevitably dust, or in sans' case melt, ((another reason why he melted was cause Dr. W.D Gaster injected DT into the IV that was connected to Sans with Undynes blood)) even though monsters don't bleed..
