To what gerson said is actually a rather good question cause what we saw in a sans au is that an uneven number of souls larger then 1 become unstable and violent yet having an even number to become calm

In canon undertale to the speak souls wouldn't be able to go against asgore. They only could do that because flowey instead of one hit killing us and calling it a day decided to toy with frisk which give frisk time to call for help. Meanwhile asgore wouldn't be sadistic meaning he would kill frisk fast and painless, Absorb their souls and after that he wouldn't have much problems with souls because we see when monster has 7 souls (Asriel) souls can't go against him. Asgore would turn into God and souls would just obey him or some shit. And about sans au. Sans is weaker than asgore so if sans is unable to control souls doesn't mean asgore can't Asgore have 80 times more atk and df than sans. And asgore is old, knowledgeable and just experienced.

Asriel was able to control six human souls completely. It suggests asgore would just get seven soul and with strength he get make souls shut up

Because Frisk thinks Asgore killed all of the children, incluiding Patience and if they died on the ruins, it doesn't make sense to them. it could have a different interpretation but Frisk didn't think much of it

Here's the thing i hate about a good portion of undertale fanbase narrow mindedness. They only see ''the monsters desire for freedom after years of 'wrongful' imprisonment means they're justified to kill children because of necessity'' first ''if i need something enough child murder is fine'' second humans had to find out monsters can absorb souls and become powerful somehow, yes? On to the next thing, genocide. A good portion of the monsters wanna break out and get revenge on humans by having asgore become a god, so if i can accept it's necessary for monsters to murder me, then those same monsters (and narrow minded fans) have to accept that it's necessary for me to save my own life and species. ''b-but the monsters will want to stop fighting when their health gets low so it's unjustifiable murder and you'll go to prison'' somehow i don't think human laws apply to monsters especially if they're all dead with no one but me remembering they existed but for the sake of argument: murderer they called me, till i revealed the graves and souls of the dead humans. Maybe they would hate me, but i'd rather be an evil murder freak than the last soul needed to crush my race. Besides that witnessing their own demise multiple times really messed the kid's mind up.
